I haven’t seen this yet, but it seems like Jacobs was underrated/written off after the Pirog disaster and then possibly overrated after GGG...he’s somewhere in the middle?
Fuck Canelo-Triple G II, THE Best Fight to Be Made at ‘60 is Jacobs vs. Charlo... For the PEOPLE’S Middleweight Championship of the World... REED
Sulecki was able to outbox and outpoint Jacobs and most of the good shots he got in were because he forced Jacobs to come out of the pocket and open up to make the rounds close. I don’t think Jermall could do that. He could box well enough to keep up and land something big though.
Good Way to Put It... While Jacobs was Never Quite in Danger of LOSING Last Night, He Certainly Wasn’t DOMINANT Either... Jermall Charlo KO’s the Jacobs from Last Night, But REED’s Sure Jacobs Would Take Charlo Much More SERIOUSLY In Preparation, As Well... 50-50 Fight, as Neil Alluded To.... REED
I want to see if Charlo can walk through Jacobs punches like he did Trout and Williams. Even Centeno hit him with a nice combo before he got waxed. How deals with the power and how he responds if he’s hurt is the big question to whether he can beat Jacobs.
I'd rather see golovkin vs charlo than jacobs vs charlo. But either are fine and the latter is more likely since golovkin is chasing the payday
this is what i was saying! Lamply and crew were ridiculous.. Big baby looks slower then most grandmas out there and they are talking about him... Roy said "He actually has some of the fastest hands in the division" WTF!??
one of them said that hadn't seen anyone switch southpaw and throw the left uppercut since Mike Tyson they are all over Big baby
I don't think Jacobs underestimated Sulecki at all in preparation. Jacobs said PLENTY of times in the past few months that cats were sleeping on Sulecki, and that if he didn't take Sulecki seriously he could lose. At NO point did he seem dismissive of Sulecki. I don't think it was a case of Danny not being at his best last night. I think it was simply a case of Sulecki being a good fighter, and Jacobs, while also a good fighter, is definitely overrated post-Golov. I'd say it's like a 55-45 fight in favor of Charlo. I don't have a dog in the race either way, just wanna see a good fight. The head does say it's 50-50, but a gut feeling says that Jacobs' chin won't hold up under Charlo's bombs. OF COURSE, on the flip side, Jacobs is five miles better than Centeno, and he has significantly more power than Julian Williams.
Both Fighters are Managed By Al Haymon... To Be Clear, Haymon and PBC Have NEVER Closed Themselves Nor Their Fighters Off from HBO...HBO Made That Power Move...Ditto for Top Rank and Golden Boy... They Took it Upon THEMSELVES To Stop Doing Business w/Al Haymon and/or His Fighters, To the DETRIMENT Of Their Own Companies, at Times... REED
