Vinny Pazienza vs. Pipino Cuevas

Spazienza looks like that poor woman who was disfigured by her idiot friend's chimpanzee by the time the ref stops the slaughter

A stoic, expressionless Cuevas has a sombrero placed on his head by a happy well-wisher as the ref is raising his hand in victory

 

At 168 Paz probably beats him. At 147 Paz loses, has a few moments, but loses and probably very very decisively in 5 rounds or under.

 

Only cause Pipino wasn't a juice monkey.

 

The unwanted truth is that Paz probably outworks him, his good chin being a major factor

No, the WANTED truth is that Cuevas goes through Paz like a hot knife through butter. The roider doesn't have enough pop to keep Cuevas off, and he's too hittable. Cuevas destroys him inside of 5.

 

Easier and faster than prime Roy?

 

Cuevas had a more ruthless style than Roy, despite the fact that he was obviously not the same caliber fighter.

Roy basically toyed with Paz for a few rounds, then, when he FELT LIKE turning it up... he stopped him.

If Roy entered the Paz fight with the same mentality he had the Griffin rematch, I have the little doubt that the roid monkey wouldn't have lasted 3 rounds.

Cuevas took no prisoners, and wasn't interested in toying with guys. So yes, I maintain, he'd stop Paz in under 5.

 

Yes... this is at welterweight and Pipino wouldn't spend a few rounds playing with him, he'd come out winging bombs from the get go

You seem to be under the impression that Pazienza had some incredible chin... guys that couldn't come close to Cuevas's power hurt and dropped him ... he'd get absolutely fucking slaughtered

 

He just thrives off being a contrarian.

Paz wouldn't even beat Shawn Porter, let alone Pipino fucking Cuevas.

 

Roger Mayweather didn't hit like Cuevas but then again Roger Mayweather probably set his shots up a lot better.

I don't know why people insist on picking a face-first lightweight who won a title in a splintered era and ponder how he might do against a consensus top 20 WW Champ.

I admit, in this case I have done some trolling.

I do believe Paz is underrated however. I get why he is so hated and he deserves all of it, but he was not a total bum. He was a solid fighter of his era

 

Not at 147 he wasn't

He was an ok lightweight who even there had to be carefully matched

 

Considering Paz just had a goddamn Hollywood movie made about him, I wouldn't call him underrated at all.

 

My favorite Paz movie is his fight against Aaron Davis

 

If you have no power, youre pretty much toasted against cuevas. Pipino overwhelms paz easily
