Never heard of Audio Slave? That is surprising.

Okay. But have you heard of Tool, Sound Garden, Stone Temple Pilots or Sunny Day Real Estate?

QUOTSA is the only one of those that I like at all and even with them it's only one record I think is quite good

  6. And even then if it's the only music you have available at that time.

I'm sorry you feel that way.

  8. Don´t be.
    Alternative/Stoner Rock-Metal is always hit-and-miss.

The only great artists remotely linked to this genre o fthe last 20-25 years are the usual suspects:
    Nirvana
    Pearl Jam
    Alice In Chains
    Soundgarden
    Stone Temple Pilots

Although that said, I did hear a few albums by Korn and Limp Bizkit but they tend to wear pretty thin, pretty fast.

But, true to Mustard´s superior musical creed, I intend to check out the bands you listed in thefirst posts....Im downloading some now as I type.

Hope not. Thing about these bands is they all came after the ones you listed. They're like post-grunge.

I wonder if these bands would be successful (although fire theft hardly qualifies), if it weren't for their famous pasts.

Saw Tool in concert a number of years ago. A few good tunes but unfortunately about 3/4 of it sounded like pure noise. I was happy when it was over.

I find it hilarious/strange that every concert that I've been to (which admittedly is not a lot) i hear people in the crowd during intermissions and what not saying it's the best concert they've ever been to. Even some of the horrible opening acts. "Those guys were wicked!"

These are people that see way more live music acts than i do. I leave wondering if they have better drugs than i have access to or if they're lying to themselves to justify the cost of the tickets.

QOTSA are definitely the best band on that list. 'Rated R' and 'Songs for the Deaf' are both excellent albums.

  16. The problem is...how are you ranking or even rating these groups?
You can't be like a girl or woman would say "well I like them...so there!"
An artist and their music needs yo be judged on things like Listenability, Originality, Resonance, Diversity etc

    QOTSA rule over all.

Audioslave and Velvet Revolver have some decent songs but for me, not not on the same level as QOTSA.

Never really been a fan of the Foo Fighters.

I'd choose to listen to QOTSA over a lot of bands.
