But yeah Mustard knows the score, Japan is fucking underrated as a boxing nation. I was surprised recently when I saw they are right up there statistically for world titles.

And needless to say some Japanese boxers are excellent, Inoue right now is a prime example.

I had a really high opinion of Higa too and can't believe he lost recently, have any of you guys seen that fight?

Higa is like a smaller, busier version of Golovkin but yeah, that fight was a weird stoppage: Higa just seemed content to soak up pressure and looked okay and the ref jumped in....

Did he look worse than usual? I'm wondering if the weight troubles impacted his performance.

Who would you pick in a rematch?

Either way I guess Inoue is the clear #1 in Japan right now.

It looks to be part of the reason, the weoght - I mean, his chin looks good enough but he leaves huge holes in his defense.
And he´s what, 22 or 23 - ages yet - lets see him v Kazuto Ioka at 52Kg

One guy whose style I find really odd, aesthetically, is Ryota Murata...just looks amateurish but he gets the KOs

To be honest, my interest in Asian boxing scene had only kicked-off recently, cos of my interest in Muay-Thai.....plus, there´s a massive population of Japanese here also.

The Problem w/that Logic is the Resume's of Duran, Robinson, Ali, Floyd, Hagler, Hearns, Roy all SHIT on Triple G's, Bruh...And it's Not even Close...

All of Them Have CLEAR CUT, DOMINANT Wins Over Some of the Best Guys They Fought...Triple G has a DRAW that Admittedly Should've Been a Win, and a Win Over Jacobs that was Certainly CLOSER than 8-4...

If Triple G had Put Forth the EFFORT to Enhance his Resume and Accomplishments as REED Suggested Years Ago, this Might Very Well Be a Different Discussion...

If Triple G had Moved Up to '68 and Faced the Likes of Ward, Jack and DeGale or @ Least 2 of those Names, he'd have a STRONGER Case...Instead, he WAITED for Canelo and Fought Lameduck Opposition...

    That CANNOT Be Rewarded...Sorry...

Jonathan E.: They're good. They got the old Samurai spirit.
Moonpie: Yeah, but they're only about ´this´ tall.
Jonathan E.: Yeah, well, two or three little things make one big thing. They're liable to climb all over you and eat ya lunch, heh-heh!

If golovkin had beat ward his resume would be immensely better. Wins over degale and jack wouldn't have done minimal for his legacy

You Keep SAYING That, Yet DeGale and Jack CONTINUE to Enhance Their Own Places in Boxing...

Had Triple G Beaten Them, Which He'd Have Been HEAVILY Favored to Do, he'd Be a 2-Weight World Champion AND He'd Have 2 Wins That Got BETTER Over Time, Similar to Floyd's Win Over Canelo...

Jack would be by far ggg best win. Only an idiot think that beating him would only have a minimal impact on his resume. No wonder that the site biggest cretin think so

I think it would have helped, but not to a degree that moved the needle in a significant direction. At his age he's better off concentrating on his middleweight reign than going for an alphabet title against opponents everybody would expect him to beat.

It’s Obviously Tooooooo Late NOW, But REED was Referring to the Preceding 2-3 Years When Triple G and Canelo were Doing their Song and Dance. Triple G was Simply WAITING, When Wins Over DeGale/Jack Certainly Would’ve Helped.

At This Point, Triple G Would Need Wins Over a Couple of His Current Mandatories to Rightfully Achieve the Pedastal Brother Mex Already Places Him On, Assuming He Gets the Clean Win Over Canelo in the RE.

It’s DOABLE for Sure, but REED Questions his Ambition.

    Yes.

And w/the Exception of Canelo, Jacobs and Kell Brook, DeGale Would Arguable Be The BEST Guy On Triple G’s Resume.

Degale sucks. was it his loss to Truax that enhanced his career?

Clearly golovkin made the correct move judging by how much he got paid to face alvarez. He'd had to fight bums like degale a dozen times to get the same compensation

Jack is alright. He has improved his standing. He is still the guy who couldn't finish off a geriatric, floundering Stevenson to get an actual victory

Golovkin Made the Right Move for his WALLET, Not His Legacy...

But Being a Mayweather DICK RIDER, Shit Like Legacy DOESNT Register w/Your Ilk, Obviously.

DeGale’s Won and Regained a Title At ‘68, Defended it a Handful of Times, Beat Dirrell, Bute and Drew with Jack.

While he’s Not Mucb to Write Home About on a World Class Level, He Certainly DOESNT “Suck”, and Would Be Among the BETTER Names On Triple G’s Otherwise SHIT Resume, for a So-Called “All Time Great Fighter”.

If DeGale “Sucks”, 75%-80% of Triple G’s Resume SUCKS Right Along w/It.

Clearly golovkins team made the correct move here

Reed was pushing for him move up to face nobodies like degale instead of waiting for an alvarez fight 'he might never get '

    False...

REED Said GGG Should Face CHAMPIONS At ‘68, Like DeGale, WHILE He Waited For the Canelo Fight.

At NO Point Did REED Ever Say Or Suggest Triple G Should Pursue ‘68 in Lieu of Canelo, and REED DARES You to Find a Single Post of His Stating Otherwise.

why the fuck would you want a 34 year old fighter going up in weight 8 pounds to fight nobodies when the money fight is at 160? you want him to go up then move back down? you want him to vacate all his middleweight titles? you think having those belts had no effect on him getting the alvarez fight?

    Huh?

Golovkin Demanded a CATCHWEIGHT of ‘64 for Ward, and Undoubtedly Could’ve Done Likewise w/DeGale or Jack.

You Can Call Them “Nobodies” til You’re Blue in the Face, But the FACT is, DeGale and Jack were RELEVANT Back When REED 1st Mentioned Them and They REMAIN Such Today.

Mikey Garcia JUST Moved Up, Won a Title, Vacated and Will Be Unifying vs. Easter at the Lower Weight in his Next Fight, So Let’s NOT Pretend it’s Unfathomable.

how the fuck was badou jack gonna make 164 lbs? that was never feasible.

so i guess golovkin missed out on that big 164 lb showdown vs james degale to enhance his legacy!

it amuses me that you believe this nonsense.

Honestly I don’t think REED believes it at all, for whatever reason he has always had a reverse hardon for Golovkin.

I do find it weird, but everyone has their share of haters, even Golovkin.

If you look at the whole time line of these guys careers then it is possible golovkin could have moved up to 168 (or 164) for the mega fight showdown legacy enhancer against degale instead of facing Monroe

He could have faced jack instead of wade also. Those are the only two opponents he fought you could even suggest he have faced jack or defale instead of
