He was born again like 10 years ago.

    He's just a Christian now.

All these people that claim to be "born again" yet how many of them were Baptized in the name of Jesus Christ? But we digress......

    Yes and No.

Pacquiao's shine was severely dimmed after being KTFO by Marquez and as such he wasn't in a position to be as tough on fight negotiations and took it up the ass in the end (relative to Floyd's compensation). Beforehand when he was as big as Floyd he didn't want to budge an inch. It's a bit of both of course as Floyd and his team was less interested in fighting the more formidable looking Pacquaio.

when he was as big as floyd, floyd didn't want the fight.

And if we knew then what we know now we'd know Floyd was/is the one with questionable test results INCLUDING illegally getting a saline IV the night before the Pac fight.

    Ya'll musta forgot.

"WADA bans such injections and infusions because they can be used to "dilute or mask the presence of another substance."

What's a logical explanation for getting that much the night BEFORE you know you're gonna be tested.

Report: Mayweather used illegal IV pre-Pacquaio

    Perhaps.

However I say again that we've never had two legitimate superstars, top of teh sport, each with EQUAL stardom....trying to negotiate a fight before. In hindsight it was always going to be near impossible to get that fight made. It only got made when Pacquiao was no longer the star.

In a fight like Ali Frazier 1, Frazier was the Champion of teh Organizations but Ali was teh Superstar and teh people's and linear champion. Therefore both guys wanted/needed something that the other had.

In Leonard hearns 1, Leonard was the Superstar so Hearns had to bow in negotiations and same with Leonard Duran 1.

In Leonard Hagler...Hagler had teh belt and Leonard was the star.

However in Mayweather Pacquaio....Both Mayweather and Pacquiao were legitimate superstars in their own right who didn't need the other for belts or fame or anything. It's just that the public demanded that fight. Therefore neither side felt they had to budge an inch.

Budge on what? If they’re equal in popularity and it’s such a huge money fight, split the revenue down the middle and don’t do drugs.

Way to twist the narrative. "It only got made when Pac was no longer the star."

No equine, it only got made when Pac was no longer in his prime. And that was no coincidence.

    In case you forgot...

Can Boxing Trust USADA's drug testing?

As reported by this writer on MaxBoxing in Dec. 2012, information filtered through the drug-testing community on May 20, 2012 to the effect that Mayweather had tested positive on three occasions for an illegal performance-enhancing drug. More specifically, it was rumored that Mayweather’s “A” sample had tested positive three times and, after each positive test, USADA had given Floyd an inadvertent use waiver. These waivers, if they were in fact given, would have negated the need to test Floyd’s “B” samples. And because the “B” samples were never tested, a loophole in Mayweather’s USADA contract would have allowed testing to continue without the positive “A” sample results being reported to Mayweather’s opponent or the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Pacquiao’s attorneys became aware of the rumor in late-May. On June 4, 2012, they served document demands and subpoenas on Mayweather, Mayweather Promotions, Golden Boy (Mayweather’s co-promoter), and USADA demanding the production of all documents relating to PED testing of Mayweather in conjunction with his fights against Shane Mosley, Victor Ortiz, and Miguel Cotto. These were the three fights that Mayweather had been tested for by USADA up until that time.

The documents were not produced. After pleading guilty to charges of domestic violence and harassment, Mayweather spent nine weeks in the Clark County Detention Center. He was released from jail on Aug. 2. Then settlement talks heated up.

A stipulation of settlement ending the defamation case was filed with the court on Sept. 25, 2012. The parties agreed to a confidentiality clause that kept the terms of settlement secret. However, prior to the agreement being signed, two sources with detailed knowledge of the proceedings told this writer that Mayweather’s initial monetary settlement offer was “substantially more” than Pacquiao’s attorneys had expected it would be. An agreement in principle was reached soon afterward. The settlement meant that the demand for documents relating to USADA’s testing of Mayweather became moot.

I agree with you. But when dealing with big egos like that everyone wants an advantage of some sort and neither side wants to concede because they don’t feel they have to.

    Can't express how much I don't give a shit about Pac-Matthysse.

I'm interested in seeing Teofimo Lopez in the ESPN opener. Like Devin Haney, he seems to have a lot of promise (I think Haney is gonna be a lot better though).
