    Fair enough. I assumed Illuminati was alluding to events in the film but wanted to have fun with it anyway. Still the concept of this old Rocky fighting a prime Champion even in an exhibition offends me.

    Some basic contender giving the Champion of the world a hell of a fight is one thing....and old man pushing 60 doing it is another thing altogether...

    Dude just watch the movie. We are all boxing fans and are in favor of the integrity of the sport. That said, I don't think ROCKY BALBOA does any disrespect to boxing or itself.

    This series is the whole reason I became interested in boxing in the first place and I know I'm not alone.

    I'll take your word for it dude, but I'll pass. Rocky 5 turned me off completely and I took a stand to never watch another Rocky film.

    Creed I'm ok with, even though it's technically part of the franchise. But it's a reboot and focused on a new character and so I can go with it. But fuck Rocky Balboa.

    Everything about it stretches is. Rocky who was has a record of 44 wins 20 losses gonna give Apollo the fight of his life? Sure Creed took him lightly, but not the second time. I dont Count Mr. T because he was just intimidation. Rocky's easiest fight when focused. But then he takes on a killer in a Juiced up Russian and tears him down. Everything about Rocky is Super Hero shit. The man is considered one of the greatest ever in the Rocky Universe. So because Dixon fucked up his hand and came in out of shape and Rocky came in with a purpose, this made for an interesting fight. Rocky still got his as kicked. But he gave the injured dixson a fight that only a super hero could do.

    btw, the style of Rocky Balboa is very similar to Creed and the First two rocky movies. The style of Rocky V was not in the same as far as Cinematography and Direction. Obviously Rocky directed Rocky Balboa and it shows the difference.

    Im watching the fight again. Dixon was pleading with the ref to stop the fight in the second round and Rocky cheap shotted him. Causing Dixon to get mad and throw a punch of body punches. One of them hit rocky in the hip breaking his hand. As Dixon was covering up, rocky threw a body shot that also broke Dixon's rib. So it was broken hand and broken rib.

    This was also a showcase of Dixon's talent and his resilience.

    I remember in Rocky 5, Tommy Gunn went from inexperienced impoverished street kid to world champion in about 6 months! hahahahaha
    And to add insult to injury the end fight was a street fight, involving some wrestling etc.

    I had to boycott the franchise after that.

    He was fighting cans. Rocky new he wasnt ready. He got hooked up with the Don King Character and probably fixed a bunch of fights with him. That is why Rocky easily kicked his ass. He was never in Rocky's league. Not in that short of time. But he left Rocky and went for the fame and Glory and the Don King Character used him. "you Lose you're Finished"

    Ok...after reading all the comment on this thread I've decided to watch the fight (just the fight) on youtube. Rather entertaining so far I must admit. I wont watch the entire film though...fuck that...but the fight is enjoyable.

    Will wait for it to come out on dvd/stream...but the Trailer does get you hyped up for it....the soundtrack....waiting till the end to show Drago's name....very good

    lol the movie is what is great. I mean the fight is your biggest issue with the movie. Why would you avoid the part that you didnt have an issue with and is better than the fight itself? You are confusing man.

    Rocky Balboa was crap. Not because of how unbelievable it was (since none of the Rocky movies are believable at all, if you think about it). But because the movie has very little plot. For an hour and a half, Rocky lumbers around, mumbling his 'words of wisdom' (which are rather juvenile), then a brief excersise part and a fight which result, even though is not completely foreseeable, carries no meaning to the movie nor to any of the characters

    Caught this at the movies.

    Pretty good film. Tessa Thompson stood out. The fight scenes were good too.

    Worthy sequel to Creed.
