They always feel the need to make something bigger in the sequel. That’s why Blade 2 sucked, they felt compelled to make a bigger and badder vampire. I’m seriously going to skip this once the negative reviews confirm what we already suspect.

I’m certain this film will suck so bad it’ll go the way of Terminator: Genysis. They’ll cut bait and follow up with a re-reboot.

Just like in Jaws 2 where they introduced a bigger shark.

That’s actually not a good example. It was never really evident the shark in Jaws 2 was any bigger than in the first film.

Nice chart but what I meant by evident was it wasn’t noticeable to the viewer at all that Jaws 2 was five feet bigger than Jaws 1. Especially when you factor in the years between each film coming out and to my recollection, 2 was never advertised as being bigger during its promotion.

People looked at a Jaws 2 the same as they looked at Jaws 1. All they saw was a big fucking shark.

Jaws 2 didn’t use the old make it bigger technique, they just used nearly the same old shark and put the victims in a different situation. Predator 2 didn’t even do that, same Predator different situation for the hero. Jaws is doing the bigger shark move today however, with that shit movie The Meg.

  8. The first Predator comedy/video-game movie.
    Now I get it!!!
(this actually looks on a par with stuff like Sharknado):

Shane Black is involved, which is positive but means it's just a fun, trashy b-movie, which is fine by me

It is a fun trashy B movie with a bunch of familiar B movie faces. They used the original soundtrack which was awesome. I liked the new direction they took it. Worth watching. May go twice.

^^AgREED...I was expecting the worse..I went in with loooow expectations...but it wasn't bad. I don't know the HISTORY of PREDATOR comics. This is the summer fun, throw a way a few hours movie that Megalodon wasn't...I will definitely rewatch when it comes out on HBO, showtime, etc...maybe a few times.

Lots of killings....blood n some gore...

Part 3 had the Cutest chick in the series history...

Part 5 n the remake had 2 of the best pair of tits in HISTORY...

  19. Ugh. Awful movie franchise.

No-one remotely famous in it and the villain isn't anywhere near as menacing as Micheal Myers or ridicously camp or entertaining as Freddie Krueger.

    What about the first movie?
    Only one worth watching...

  20. In horror franchises it's typical to have only the first one being worth watching.

IMO, the exceptions are SAW and Final Destination franchises...love me all of them!

That’s actually not true at all. All the Halloween sequels are unwatchable, but what about the Friday The 13th’s? IMO the first one is the least watchable one.

Then you have the Alien franchise which all are pretty rewatchable and you have the Nightmare on Elm Streets, Chucky movies and the Wrong Turn films that all have sequels that hold up well for rewatching. Regardless of the genre, I’d say some films have rewatchable sequels and some don’t.

To be honest I don’t consider The Predator in the horror film genre anyway. He originally turned up as a vehicle for an action film with sci fi elements.

  22. Anything after Alien and Aliens was terrible in that franchise IMO. Nightmare franchise only the first one is good...the rest were just silly and not scary at all. I’ve never watched even one chucky film...the concept just seems too silly for me.
