Not sure it will really happens. If it does, it's a dumb move by Mcgregor. Even in his prime, not sure he beats Khabib, and he certainly doesn't do so while coming off such a long layoff

Khabib will get injured and Nate Diaz will step in. Khabib gets stripped and Conor gets the belt after he KO's Nate.

Good for Connor that he got so successful that it basically ended his career.

But lots of guys make it to the top like he did, very few earn the financial windfall that he did. So if he does go the way of Rhonda Rousey in the ring and lose his comeback, at lest it won’t be because of Hollywood success like it was for her. No, Connor’s career will end because of his success in the ring.

Not really. Who else was he going to fight that brings this much fan interest and has the potential to break PPV records? They already have the back-story in place with the dolly/bus incident which was a result of Khabib's intimidation tactics on McGregor's buddy Artem Lobov.
Other than Khabib, a third meeting with Nate Diaz is the only other option for McGregor. No other opponent in the UFC brings as much publicity in a McGregor fight at this point in time outside of these two. Tony Ferguson is a walking injury, Max Holloway is in bad shape from cutting weight. Khabib is the only viable option for McGregor.

If you put on some tacky tattoos and grew out a beard, you could make a pretty good retarded faggot version of Conor's brother.

    Are You Kidding?...

"Conon McGregor's COMEBACK Fight" Sells Itself Bruh...750k-1mil PPV Sales Minimum, JUST Because it's McGregor...

Literally, McGregor Could Fight REED or Hanz and Do 500k...So Even Against a Lower Top 10 Level Lightweight, Conor Does 750k-1mil...Put a Khabib Title Defense on the Undercard, Get Them In the Cage Together After the Main Event...

Khabib is Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from a Proven UFC Entity, from a Marketability Stand Point, So McGregor Will Be 100% Responsible for the PPV Numbers...

They're looking at 2 million PPV buys for this fight. Khabib is a real reason why they could hit the largest PPV numbers in history. I'm certainly stoked for it. No way is it all 100% on McGregor. Lot of MMA fans have been waiting for this fight for a long time.

It is at least 80% McGregor. He is currently the biggest name in combat sports, so it should be expected.

If we do some math here, McGregor/Aldo did 1.2 million PPV buys, McGregor/Diaz I did 1.31 million PPV buys, McGregor/Diaz II did 1.65 million PPV buys. The very next fight, McGregor/Alvarez did 1.3 million PPV buys. Looking at this trend, McGregor can fight a non-star, with sufficient hype and promotion leading in, and he should garner in the 1.2 million PPV buys range at the very least.
If they blow those numbers out of the water at UFC 229 and hit their expected tally of 2 million PPV buys or near there, Khabib would be a big reason for it. Simple math :)

That was a boxing match. And he was sharing the ring with a boxing legend. Let's see if the success of that fight rubs off in his UFC return. Last I saw, he got spanked in that fight by Mayweather who was carrying him for most of it. McGregor is 2-2 in his last 4 outings. He escaped Diaz by the skin of his balls.

If Conor vs Khabib gets 2mill it will have nothing to do with khabib. The Mayweather fight made Conor a household name to the casual sports fan now plus the fact that he's rich now and doesn't have to fight often or at all will make this a must see.

Dunno. I'm ordering the PPV because it's Conor vs Khabib. A fight that I WANT to see. I didn't give a crud about Conor vs Alvarez. Go put Conor vs Dustin Poirier and it won't hit anything close to what Conor/Khabib will.
As for Conor being a household name after the boxing match, he didn't win the match. He looked like a monkey for most of it, pretending like he was a boxer and Floyd was carrying him. Let's see how many people are going to put down $79.95 to see Conor vs Khabib. How many boxing fans are going to follow him into MMA.

Ha made a name for himself to the general public by talking shit and being an arrogant douche bag. As far as I know in this pathetic day and age it's who is the most flashy and not who has the most substance so ya I'm pretty sure the whole Mayweather saga made him a ton of new fans...

Don't know where I read it but a larger contingent of Irish fans were ordering McGregor's PPVs. Whereas a larger base of Americans were ordering Ronda Rousey's PPVs. Their numbers were fairly similar. Rousey did 1.1 million PPV buys against Nunes while Mcgregor did 1.3 million PPV buys against Alvarez.
