I think it's more likely that tonight's fight is gonna be better. When will people realize that Canelo isnt that exciting to watch?
In fairness, Thurman-Porter was a good fight. And Cherry Garcia lacks the speed and mobility of Thurman, so I expect even more exchanges.
I found the hype around that fight unwarranted/overrated Thurman's movement prevented a lot of grappling opportunities for porter, also
I doubt it’s a fight of the year candidate. It’ll be competitive but not exactly exciting. Porter is horrible to watch.
Draw May Have Been the FAIREST Verdict, But Garcia Didn’t “Win” for Sure. UD For Porter was a Bit of a Stretch Too, Admittedly, But a Split or Majority Decision in his Favor Was JUST. REED
Just got home from the fight. Yeah, it was a fair decision. The sentiment of most ppl in the crowd was that Porter edged it... even a Garcia fan from Philly whom I was sitting next to admitted that Danny lost. Neither guy has anything for Spence, that was also the sentiment of the crowd.
it was a competitive fight but i had garcia winning. i dont mind the verdict as it means spence gets to administer a beatdown on the ohio octopus
Just as a matter of interest, when did we start hearing so much about "Dad's" in boxing? I mean not in their capacity as former fighters, but as the "Dad" of some active fighter? Broners fat dad. Floyds dad. Garcias dad. Thurmans dad. Mosleys dad. Calzaghes dad. Roys dad. Chris Eubank Jr's dad.
If you mean dads as trainers.. that became a more common trend in the 2000s, probably starting in the late 90s with Shane's dad and Calz's dad. I can remember HBO in the late 90s covering the Mosley father/son relationship because up until that point it was still pretty rare to see a dad training their son SUCCESSFULLY.
