That above list - don´t know how accurate it is by its use of ´units´, but this list differs and entails what sales are counted:

It isn't low Slice.
According to the eleven verified and certified market and their official figures, it's sold around 24m which woukd seem about accurate given that by 1977, four years after its release, it had sold 5m on vinyl and cassette anyway.
Add to all of this the advent of CDs in 1983-84 and extra, unverified markets (South America, Asia, Russia, etc) and you see why 'claimed sales' would be around 30-40m.

It's a better selling record in terms of more markets than say Hotel California or Their Greatest Hits 1971-75 where almost 80% of those totals are US-based alone.

Totally mystifying to me are the massive sales of albums by Celine Dion, Alannis Morisette, Shania Twain, etc, who seem to have hit that commercial peak with one album and then done nothing of note/worth since.

Or even anything at all, for that matter.

 

And all were putrid, hideous audible shit

 

Furthermore, I don't know of any female, then or now, who bought anything by any of those shrill cunts.
