BumJay BARELY got by a shot version of Vitali's shitty younger brother who even at his best wasn't as good as Vitali, nearly getting KO'd by old Klit in the process... and you think BumJay could beat prime Vitali?
Only if you have some kind of sexual fetish toward this big bum. Prime vitaly couldn't wipe his ass with Chris fucking Byrd, and was made to look like a pig in a slaughterhouse by a decreptite obese Lennox Lewis. And he got floored by Corey Sanders, who while a decent fighter, was nothing great. Yes he looked sometime decent against the row of bums he fought, but it's easy to do so against bums. IN fact, that's the point of fighting bums, looking great. Whe you tjhink about it, all 3 of these current guys have better win than coward vitaly, who ducked Hasim Rahman of all people
What's that absurdity about Vitaly being better than Wlad? Wlad sure looked a million times better against Byrd that the big robot did. Yes Vitaly was much more courageous and durable than Wlad, but it's far from sure he was a better fighter. (yes he beat Sanders, while Sanders nearly decapited the big pussy, but Wlad also beat a lot of credible guys that Vitaly might not have). Wlad was a lot smoother and punched harder. You can criticize AJ all you want for his win against Povetkin, but fact is, Vitaly never beat someone as good as Povetkin. Claiming Vitaly is a sure shot against him is overrating the fuck out of that big orange coward
yes. It wasn't called a KD but it was an obvious KD, at the end of the 1st round. You should watch fghts instead of only relying on boxrec
I'm always honest when it comes to my viewing fights. I hadn't re-watched Vitali-Sanders since the night it happened, which was what? Like almost 15 years ago. I honestly had no recollection of Vitali being hurt, but I just rewatched the first round and will concede that you're right... he was indeed dropped and the ref blew it. He still beats AJ, Wilder, and Fury.
cool enough. Always appreciate when someone admit that he did a mistake (which we all do). This alone makes you a bigger man that a few on this site. Still, you're wrong, Vitaly probably lose, or is even money at best, against all 3.
Seems like all of a sudden enough time has passed for vitali to pass into the realm of the romantisized, rose tinted. Is 5 years the threshold?
Counter q: do you think a guy with a 40 fight amateur career is gonna be as good as he'll ever be in his 19th pro fight? Guys like Lewis and vitali were improving well into their 30s. Give the guy a break
We bitch and moan for decades about the lack of a legit exciting crossover appeal heavyweight then one comes along and.....we bitch and moan some more because he isn't also an untouchable 18 stone willie pep, 20 fights in.
Saying it's a certainty he beats all three, that he'd wipe his ass with them etc suggests some rose tint here. Certainly he might win against all 3, might even be favoured to do so but all three are better men than he ever beat and nobody here was rhapsodising about what a formidable beast vitali was during this amazing prime we're suddenly pining for
The post I wrote about Vitaly echoes what I was saying about him 7 years ago... "Prime Vitaly was shit" is a way more ludicrous statement than the admittedly hyperbolic assertions made by X or Jiffy
They're both pretty hyperbolic tbh. I think vitali would be right in a good 4 man mix if he was around now. Never mind the three champs, povetkin is better than anyone vitali ever beat
Cunts, never satisfied, hypocritical, way too argumentative and also think they know better than anyone else about ´fighting sports´. By the way, no-one on this Forum is a cunt.
What is so good about Povetkin exactly? Looks like another guy that would get slowly tuned up at long range, unable to get to Vitaly
I was always a bit of a povetkin admirer I think he's a skilled guy who became underrated on the basis of wlad being sanctioned to shamelessly cheat his way out of a boxing match with him. Povetkin should have won that by Dq five times. Feints well, short punches, mixes it up high and low, decent foot speed, brave. Much more skilled and adroit at negotiating distance than Sam peter, Chris Arreola, Danny Williams, manual charr, Kevin Johnson... ooft, what a list I'd favour vitali to win but it'd be a fight, especially early.
I think he gets beat up pretty easily... how many rounds combined did that quintet win vs Vitaly? This is why I respected the guy... no cheating, no skullduggery... he just casually beat them up ... he was the anti-wald pussy ... I could see if Vitali squeaked by these bums or struggled; he didn't. He just shoved jabs down their throats and cuffed them about with arm punches while hardly ever getting hit ... relaxed and easy, a pro
Povetkin Applies SMART Pressure, Has Appreciable Handspeed, Feints VERY Well and Can Hurt a Man w/Either Hand...He's Aggressive Yet NOT Reckless...He's Got 1 of the Better KO Highlight Reels of Any Current Fighter... "Problem" is, He's 6'2 in the Era of Super Heavyweights...Nonetheless, Povetkin was Probably the 3rd Best Heavyweight of his Era, Behind the Brothers Klit...Gold Medalist in 2004...Dude Can Fight, Period...And He's Only Lost to THE Very Best he's Faced... Since Joe Frazier Has Been a Common Theme, Frazier-Povetkin's an INTRIGUING Action Fight...ZERO % Chance of Frazier Winning 10 Out of 10, and REED Thinks it'd Be a LOT Closer to 5-5 Than You'll Ever Accept...
