Best Fight in HBO's History

Good fight. Too many fights to name just one methinks. Hagler Hearns, Tito Vargas, Barrera Morales, Hagler Leonard

 

that slow guy hagler sure was in some good fights eh

 

That Hagler was fighting at Ben Tackie speed.

 

No one has mentioned Pryor-Arguello 1 yet.

 

HAgler-Leonard !!!!! While it was a surprise to see Leonard be competitive with Hagler, and arguably winning it, and while it wasn't a bore, it was far from an action fight.

 

There's some real doozies ... every time I think of one as "the one", another contender pops up

Hagler-Hearns is overrated. Best round 1 in history, but far from the best fight in history.

Ugo might be onto something. Chavez-Taylor 1 is easily a top 5 all time HBO fight at the least.

Holy-Bowe 1 is on the short list as well.

In the last 15 years, let's not forget Pavlik-Taylor 1. That's a top 10 all time HBO fight, easily.

 

First round of Hagler/Hearns is apocalyptic, though

Must've been insane to see it as a mature fan of the sport as it happened

 

Hearns must have the worst defense in history cuz Marv was punching under water in there and still landing.
