    Groves did indeed quit.

He coulda gotten up in time, but you saw him shaking his head as if to say "Nope, I don't want anymore parts of this guy." And he just elected to stay on his knees until the ref reached the 10 count.

I'm not gonna call Groves a bitch, he's displayed heart before. He was just physically and mentally broken by a younger, stronger, hungrier fighter that he couldn't keep off.

That, plus the body shot made it physically difficult for him to get upright.

Imo this quitting was like Tyson's quitting against Lennox. He could have gone on but I wouldn't call him a dog for not doing that

I'd probably liken it more to Frietas in the Corrales fight. And no, I'm not saying that Groves lacks heart the way Frietas did.... but the look was the same. "I can't keep this guy off of me. I don't want anymore."

Another similar occurrence, which isn't mentioned as often, is Livingstone Bramble quitting in the Rosario fight. Bramble could have gotten up, but elected to stay on the floor and take the count. He knew in his mind Rosario was too much for him.

Huge difference between these fights, as the quitter was beaten and had no shot at coming back. Groves was very much in that fight, the momentum seemes to be shifting in his favor before the left hook, so if he survived the round, he could have won this.

    Disgusting quit job imo

Its funny to see that finnish buffoon once again trying to act like it was no quit job (we all rebember you pulling the same trick to defend your hero quitjob against brewster)
Dude is either blind as a bat or has no dignity (steering toward the latter since hes a huge wald pussy fan)

Isn't it Mr. 'Please spare me the insults' himself. Did Groves commit the ultimate bitch move and quit AFTER the fight had ended?

I don’t think Groves quit at all. He merely acknowledged that he’d been ktfo. It wasn’t like he was taking a horrible beating and on the verge of quitting before the six second sequence that ended the fight. I knew the result but not the round when I watched it and it was fairly sudden.

We all appreciate when guys that have been knocked silly lay flat on their face or do a little boogaloo dance for us but sometimes they just know they’re not going to be up for world class boxing in the next 10-15 seconds.

Smith looked good. I was thinking he could look really impressive if he had a little mid range game and then he smashed him with that hook.
