Why is he famous? Or funny? I don't get it. Ok you're very short. What else you got? nothing? How is this annoying chocolate Smurf funny??

 

He yells in a falsetto voice and makes faces?

 

He used to be funny back in the day. Now it seems like he tries too hard. Also, humor is subjective, therefore, because you don’t think he’s funny doesn’t give you the right to make a thread basically presenting your opinion as fact.

For example, I never found Will Ferrell’s style of comedy funny yet I never went around asking why everyone liked him. I had the common sense to understand that not everyone likes the same thing and that the world doesn’t revolve around my opinion.

Not to get too controversial, but in addition to his gimmick of "Hey, look at me... I'm short!" its also because Hart is the"safe" negro that Hollywood loves. Not political, humor that appeals to the lowest common denominator, won't ever rock the white mainstream boat. Hart is a "Yes bawse, youse knows I looovvesss my money" typa nigga.

As opposed to a cat like Eddie Griffin, one of my all time favorite comedians, who never became a mainstream star because he's too political and outspoken.

A little off-topic but is anyone else surprised that Ice Cube was able to become this mainstream Hollywood guy who also does these little cute family flicks?

Cube is the guy who recorded songs like “Cave Bitch” and “Horny Lil Devil”, produced Da Lench Mob, was accused of anti-Semitism (you let a Jew break up my crew), and praised Khalid Abdul Muhammad, who was kicked out of the NOI for calling for mass genocide of whites in South Africa.

My coworker is a white lady (actually named Becky) who loves Ice Cube. Whenever she talks about him, I always think of this:

Comedy is subjective, just like Lb for Lb. already alluded to. I think Kevin Hart is funny enough, and just like Lb. for Lb. I think he used to be much funnier a long time ago, before he started to take comedy so "seriously" as a job..................but to his credit, that's also when he started to get paid.

For some reason I find comedians, especially standups, inherently interesting as people, even if I'm not a fan of their acts. Especially when they're hanging out amongst themselves. Seinfeld's "Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee" is one of my favorite guilty pleasure shows.

 

To be fair to them, you don't have much of a sense of humor. Being a cynical, contrarian cunt only goes so far on the humor scale.

On his Netflix standup movies the entire audience is black...I think it's just a case of black people picking a random comedian and all agreeing to support him

Comedy is subjective, Kevin Hart is funny to some people and not funny to others just like 99.9% of the other top comedians out there. If you don’t think Kev is funny than you’re right, he isn’t funny...to you.

 

I'm just analysing who actually finds him funny though....and by looking at his audience it's 99% black people of all ages - can't ignore that fact

Unless they’re really successful and have crossed over, black comedians tend to attract mainly all black audiences. Seeing as how Kev HAS crossed over, the mostly black audience probably has more to do with which state/town that particular standup was recorded in.

Except under rare circumstances which has more to do with comedic style and subject matter -such as the case of prerape charge Bill Cosby- racial demographic will always play a part in a comedian’s audience. White comedians tend to attract white audiences and black comedians black audiences.

Hart started out with black audiences before he crossed over and many of those black fans have stayed loyal to him mostly because they still find him funny. Of course, due to him crossing over he could probably just as easily fill a venue with white people in Utah. Like I said, it all depends where it gets filmed.

I tend to take this view as well. Some people don't understand or like the fact Star Wars films, baseball, rap music or sushi are popular. If it's not your thing feel free to question it but too bash people who like them seems like insecure high school bs. "Oooh you like that band? you're so uncool!"

As far as Kevin Hart goes i wouldn't consider myself a "fan" but don't think he sucks ass either. He's kind of meh. I also think he's oversaturated himself with being on just about every show, movie, youtube channel or venue he can find an opening for.

I suppose everybody is judgmental in some way about what others like. That said what really draws my ire are talentless vapid people who somehow become "stars". A few examples are the Kardashians and the Spice Girls.

Yeah that's how I see it, I've never found him that funny but he hasn't ruined anything I've seen him in. 'Meh' basically sums him up.
