Here's the can't miss undercard! Jarret Hurd vs. Jason Welborn Luis Ortiz vs. Travis Kauffman Joe Joyce vs. Joe Hanks Thanks, PBC! Only the best quality for the fans... BTW - Wilder is on record claiming that this fight will do 2.2 million buys...
Guy's record is shit. This fight will not be competitive in the slightest. And Kauffman has no fucking chance against Ortiz. You're right. This is an awful fucking card.
Yeah, its gonna be a no for me. I ain't ordering this shit. Initially the rumor was that Gary Russell vs Santa Cruz would be on the card, but I shoulda known that was a crock... Russell only fights every 6 years.
This is why we should mourn the loss of HBO. Without its competition, Showtime quality will undoubtedly go down hill.
Undercards have for the most part sucked for a few decades. I don't think the promoters care as the vast majority are only purchasing a card for the main event. After all, that's usually the only thing that's hyped during the promotion. If they couldn't sell without a good undercard it would be different.
True. It's the ongoing effort of all mature industries to exchange less and less for more and more. The whole HD thing still pisses me off - the idea they would charge 20% more if you want to see it in HD. And now that everything is HD, we're left with higher costs, and like you said, shitty, self-serving, showcase undercards. Shame. The bright side is we can go on youtube and practically watch whatever fight we want, whenever.
Yeah the HD thing is absurd. I suppose it was understandable when the technology was new and there would have been investment in newer equipment and so on. Now it's just another greedy cash grab.
Big dumb white Irish heavyweight, in todays Hyper-Racialized society, with all these Black Balls Matter people hanging around, it should do 40m views handy.
Nobody knows who Wilder is in the states besides hardcores, and UK posters are saying Fury isnt a massive star in the UK... 300-400k sounds about right for the PPV buys. Anything 500k or above will be viewed as a big success.
