Loma still has to proof himself at lightweight before I can favor him here. Chapo would have sent Linares to an early grave.
Not to sound like a nostaglic, but this lightweight era is historically weak. I mean, obviously outside of Loma and Garcia, who are never gonna fight eachother anyway. Loma is fighting whooo next? Jose Pedraza? That guy is a fuckin palooka who wouldn't even be a fringe guy in the 80s. The good news is you do have talent coming in the way of Haney and Lopez, but I expect those guys to fight their primes at 140. 135 just doesn't have the luster it used to have. That's why its hard to compare, cause in the 80s the division was so much deeper with talent than it is today. Prime Camacho would be looking EVERY BIT as dominant as Loma fighting Loma's comp.
And I dont think Loma is a lock in that one either. The early 00s lightweights were head and shoulders over the current crop.
