A lot of talk over this happening next. If true, Khan stands to make a nice bit of money from what will most likely be, another sensational knockout loss.
Khan is forgetting the Rule In Bugner vs Duff......namely, it's not about money, it's about money and being able to fucking spend it.
Man, this will be brutal. Khan like always will give it a go and might nick some early rounds, but whenever Crawford turns it up it's lligjts out.
Crawford should catch a lot of shit for this. All the talent at 147 and this is his idea of a PPV fight?
I'd much rather see Crawford-Brook. Brook was gonna come down to 147 to face Khan wasn't he? That's a better matchup.
He could've signed with someone else. Presumably, when he re-signed with TR he knew full well it would mean not facing any of the top guys in his division. Fucking Khan? How about Munguia! Even Saddam Ali would be a better fight IMO.
It's a good move for both guys. Khan is well known in the states and Crawford looks good in knocking him out and I imagine it will do reasonably good PPV numbers. Khan gets well paid also.
It's the same old with Khan. He can make it exciting up to the point when his opponent lands something meaningful and then it's game over. This matchup won't please hardcore fans but it will go down well with casual fans and that can only be good for Crawford going forward.
This will go ahead I'm sure and I'm pretty certain now that Brook-Khan will not happen, just when it was seeming like it would finally get done.
Khan KNOWS he can’t beat Brook. He also likely knows he can’t beat Crawford but he’ll at least get some dough out of this before he finally fucks off for good. Crawford will fight Brook after he shatters Khan’s glass jaw.
The general consensus (and it has been for quite some time) is that not only does Khan not believe he can beat Brook, he doesn't want what will come after defeat to him...the mocking he'd receive from fans for losing to a guy who has been his main rival for several years now and who he has avoided for so long. Yeah, he'd gain respect for taking the fight now, but he would have gained much, much more respect if he had fought Brook all those years ago. Brook-Khan has become a laughing stock.
Crawford-Brook would be a big fight but it would be a lot bigger if Brook was more well known in America. You can see a scenario where Crawford beats Khan and then Khan's biggest rival goes to the States to try and do what his rival was unable to do. Not as likely to happen I think.
Brook would do well to take either a rematch with Porter or a showdown with Garcia. He’d whoop DSG so that’s a fight that he should press for. It’ll raise his profile and it’ll add to the fact that he beat Porter and put in a great effort against Spence, though he lost. Beating Khan in fact does nothing for Brook. He just wants to KO him because he doesn’t like him.
If you were Hearn, would you try to convince Brook to come back down to 147? Surely he can still make the weight as he was going to come down for Khan. More high profile fights at 147 and stands to make more money facing the likes of Crawford and Garcia than Hurd or Charlo.
LOL. Crawford-Brook will never happen. Brook's not dropping back down to welter for Crawford. If I'm Brook, a fight I'd pursue is Jeff Horn. That scrub is easy money for Brook.
What would Brook really have to gain by beating Jeff bloody Horn? I can, however, see Eddie milking the "this is the guy that beat the legendary Manny Pacquiao" line though.
