TIM RYAN!! The guy was fucking awesome calling fights on ABC in the 80s.

Ryan, Gil Clancy, and Angie Dundee are the best combined team to ever call fights. The three had great chemistry, were insightful and funny.

But this is about Tim Ryan. He was awesome, probably even better than 80s Tompkins.

He takes a giant shit on ANY version of Limpley.

Absolutely. There was an authenticity he added when calling a fight that felt real and in the moment but wasn’t theatrical or over the top like Lampley whenever his favorites fought.

Gil Clancy was a great analyst. He had a great mind for the sport.

I liked Tim and Gil ... I have (though mostly had by now, sadly) relatives that talked like Gil, same old time New York accent so any of the 80s fights that Tim and Gil called I tend to enjoy because it's like hearing them talking again

Gil and Angie had a lot of chemistry because it was a mix of old school Irish humor and old school Italian humor.

Yeah. Ryan was great. Liked him a lot.

I know he wasn't a blow by blow guy, but what do people think of Rich Marrotta? Always thought he was pretty good at his job .

I'll always remember Tim Ryan for how he called Jackson's KO of Buster Drayton.

"A tremendous left hand from Jackson! Drayton dropped like a tree! Drayton dropped.... like a tree!"
