Loma IS overrated as all Hell, you guys gotta admit.

For one, tonight CLEARLY AS DAY showed that Crawford is the best fighter in the world, not Loma.

Secondly, this guy is NOT the generational type fighter he's been hyped to be.

This is a man who has been called by some (not all) as every bit as talented as guys like Floyd, Whitaker, Leonard, Roy. He's NOT... those absurd fucking comparisons need to cease immediately.

He also has no business in mythical matchups with guys like Chavez, Duran, Pac, and Floyd and speculating with "Well, we just don't know how good Loma is yet, but he might be...." he might be nothing.... the likes of Duran, prime Pac, young Floyd, and Chavez would have DESTROYED Loma, I don't wanna hear anything different.

He's an EXCELLENT fighter, don't get me wrong... but hopefully now people stop going overboard.

Loma is shot now ever since he tore his shoulder

Crawford is far from.the best fighter in the world
When he has better victory than postol, ill be impressed

Bud is a better fighter than Loma.

But Crawford wasn't even close to being the main point of my post.

No one has EVER claimed that Crawford was on the level of Floyd, Duran, Whitaker. Never heard anyone say it.

The comparisons are made all the time with Loma. Most not on this forum, but still.

135 may be the limit for lomachenko. He seems small there. Still a helluva fighter

    Helluva fighter? Absolutely.

The generational great he's been hyped as? No, I don't believe so.

But I agree Neil, 135 looks like his limit.

The way he looked tonight, I'd favor Prograis and Taylor over him at 140.

Loma didn't look too special here, but some of it might be due to the shoulder injury.

Also, there was no whoa-factor to be seen, but he did win by a mile, bit like Floyd after his super featherweight days.

Of course Loma hasn't proven that he is in the level of the all-time greats

Missed the fight. Did he actually struggle at all or was it just not a standout performance?

Crawford looked mediocre against Benavides and his p4p claim is more about promotion than accomplishments. Crawford, Loma, Garcia and Spence are all p4p level guys but none of them feel like a #1 guy. I’d say Garcia is the closest but he gets the least mention.

It wasn't a vintage performance but he still won handily. Coming back from shoulder surgery too so it's understandable that he wasn't going to be at his very best.

Christ mate, it's one bad performance, and it wasn't even that bad. His career trajectory is nearly unprecedented in the sport.

I agree, but if you put Rocky Marciano in with the Cruisers, with 2 Olympics worth of amateurs behind him, he'd probably have taken a title in his FIRST fight

I simply said that I dont think this guy is some generational type of fighter... and I maintain that.

Crawford takes A LOT of shit, while Loma is worshiped, but I 100% stick by my guns in saying TC is a better fighter.

Oh btw, we all give him a lot of shit, myself included... but Tank's stock just went up.

Looks like we underrated the fashion in which he destroyed Pedraza.

The kid has talent, I just fear he'll squander it by consistently getting fat between fights and getting in legal trouble.

Do you think Loma-Tank should happen sooner rather than later?

  17. Xplosive

I think right now Loma wins.

In a couple years? Tank COULD win. Will he? Depends on if he can get his shit together.

I dont wanna switch predictions that fast. This is the best of Loma right now, and he is very good. Probably too seasoned for Tank if they fought in the next year.

I rate Crawford highly, higher than most it seems, and his skillset is awesome. I rate Loma slightly higher but I have no problem admitting it's really close between the two, and if anyone rated Crawford #1 I have no issue with that.

I don't know what constitutes a 'generational talent', a once-every-generation fighter? Lomachenko has a rare skillset, one of the best I've ever seen, so if that is what it means then yeah I'd definitely say he fits that criteria.

But see this is what I mean, I'm a fan of Tank and have said so many times on here, but earlier this year he was overrated and worse than Broner, now he's shot right up and is apparently a couple of years away from beating Lomachenko without even bloody fighting :D. I knew a thread like this would pop up, you DO have to wait and see what transpires before speaking in absolutes, boxers have bad nights. Maybe you're right, maybe I am, who knows

  21. Xplosive

    Xplosive X-MOD Bad Motherfucker

I said Tank has the POTENTIAL to beat Loma in a couple of years... only if his fat ass gets his shit together. Not 100% sure that Davis wont implode.

  22. Neil

    Neil tueur de grenouilles

Pedraza looks a lot more sturdy at 135 than he did vs davis. Davis would get wrecked by lomachenko and I cant imagine a different result in a few years unless lomachenko begins to rapidly decline

Stylistically davis is a much more conducive foe for lomachenko to look spectacular against

I'm maintaining what I said last night that at 140 Loma loses to Taylor and Prograis. Too small for them.

Actually, Taylor would be a NIGHTMARE for Loma.

  24. Xplosive

    Xplosive X-MOD Bad Motherfucker

We gotta see how Tank looks at 135.

Loma doesn't look other worldly at 135.

At 130 Loma woulda spanked Davis

I'm not picking JuanMa 2.0 over Loma ffs

  26. Xplosive

    Xplosive X-MOD Bad Motherfucker

    Not the most accurate comparison.

JuanMa was slow and ponderous on his feet.

Davis has very quick feet and closes the gap a lot faster than JuanMa could.

Davis also moves his head and upper body better than JuanMa.

Davis was a bum. Now he's good. Loma is "okay." And Postol-beater is p4p.

Really really strange that you guys write off Postol like he's some palooka. An aged, inactive Postol just gave Taylor the toughest fight of his career.

Its actually impressive that TC pitched a shut out on Postol.

Postol is a better fighter than Linares, I'll tell ya that. And everybody licks Loma's nuts off that fight.

Your generational fighters have all had similar or worse performances against similar or worse fighters.
