Aye, you feel sorry for anyone who gets themselves in that much of a mess but it's hard not to be startled by the scale of the stupidity, too. And you wonder where the club was in all of this? I realize he's a grown man but he's also a multi million quid asset and while they're monitoring his diet, fitness, strength training etc, you'd think it'd behoove them to monitor whether other off field activities are spiralling out of control? This can't be the first they're hearing of this
He should have been able to clear that 500,000 in a fucking half-season. He's a moron. Go and speak to somebody. Tell them what is happening. Raise the money. Pay it off.
Two teams out with the big five leagues. Not a single big 5 team eliminated by a non big 5 team. Total closed shop zzzz
Tough draw for Celtic. Valencia obviously favourites but it's not an impossible task, they're having a really weird season in La Liga.
I dont think we've even got a chance but I'm relieved it's against a team struggling for goals since it reduces our chances of taking a serious doing. If we can just get a home performance to get behind I'll be content...just give us something to cheer.
Liverpool have the beating of Bayern, especially this season. I expect Tottenham to either play well and find a way to lose, or just get tonked completely against Dortmund, who really do look fucking excellent this year. City will walk all over Schalke. Everything says PSG tear through Man U, they should really. Man U are awful. But I dunno, the CL is literally the only thing that can save Mourinho's Man U career, I'm not saying United win but I have a feeling it might be more competitive than people expect.
Citeh fans are desperate to win the CL and Liverpool fans are desperate to win the league title. They should just come to a compromise.
I don't know a thing about cycling so can't really say if Thomas was a worthy winner, I have a couple of friends who are really into cycling though and they seem to hold him in high esteem. Maybe he deserved it, I don't know. I would have voted for Fury but then I am a boxing fan telling you this on a boxing site, so no big surprise. He should have been nominated though, it's an absolutely insane comeback when you think about it. Hamilton personality wise is as dull as it fucking gets, but there can be no doubt the guy is an absolutely exceptional driver, I wouldn't really have had any complaints if he'd won. Kane didn't deserve to win and I'm glad he didn't but I like the guy. He seems like a decent sort and he's a really good footballer.
Fury and Hamilton do something dangerous for a living, that's why I back them. Cycling is definitely harder than football, so good luck to Thomas.
Yeah, I get that reasoning in terms of Fury and Hamilton. It should have been between those two in my eyes, but then like I said I just don't know enough about cycling, maybe Thomas deserved it. I wouldn't say cycling is harder than football, endurance wise sure, but football is skill-intensive and requires endurance for quick, explosive bursts. Impossible to compare the two.
What are your Champions League picks. Mine below. Schalke vs. Manchester City No brainer. Scheisse will get slaughtered. Atletico Madrid vs. Juventus Hardest one to call. Might be decided on away goals. Manchester United vs. Paris Saint-Germain Mourinho will park the bus in an attempt to keep it close but it won't help. Tottenham vs. Borussia Dortmund Coin flip. Current Spurs squad have more experience and probably are the betting favorite but i'll go with BVB narrowly. I expect a lot of goals. Lyon vs. Barcelona No explanation needed. Roma vs. Porto Haven't really followed either club much. Roma is a guess. Ajax vs. Real Madrid If I was gambling guy I'd take Ajax. Surely the odds have to be heavily in RM's favor but RM is on poor form and Ajax quite the opposite. That said this is the Champions League and Real Madrid always take it to another level. Liverpool vs. Bayern Munich Bayern's form has improved recently and the winter break will probably help them but it doesn't change the fact most of their star players are on the wrong side of their prime. I think Liverpool will be too much for them.
Haha, I met my cycling mates at work, it is much more popular than I ever realised though. A good friend of mine does loads of those ultra-endurance races around Europe, builds his own bikes etc. It's not my thing at all but it's definitely a bigger sport than I thought.
I haven't owned a bike myself in well over a decade. I actually like cycling (not as a sport, just as a way to get around and explore), but London just isn't built for it, far too dangerous. I like to hire bikes when I go to Europe though.
Aye I gave up cycling the streets too - a shockingly large proportion of people become literal psychopaths behind a car wheel and I have this weird character flaw where i tend to go fucking mental when somebody nearly kills me by carelessly firing 2 tonnes of metal in my direction.
Now I think about it, there's actually a cycling cafe at partick cross. Coffee shop/bar/bike Maintainence pit stop
Yeah that's the thing, you can ride as safe as you want, you're still relying on not crossing paths with a mental/incompetent driver, of which there are plenty in London, and obviously you're always going to come off worse. Not worth the risk.
I would have thought 'cycling fans' would have more visible in Scotland tbh as there have been a fair few well-known cyclists from there, I just assumed it had more of a following in that part of the UK.
