    Obviously Carbajal-Gonzalez 1

Quiroga-Anifowoshe was a terrific fight with a hometown decision, sad ending and tragic aftermath of the two fighters.

It's painful...........McAulay was a legit world-class flyweight guy who would be making a lot of money today. Instead he fought in the era about 10 years before Kevin Kelly made history with the first $1m FW purse.

Bum Bernard Dunne made life-changing money taking life-taking beatings from unknown slugs at 122lbs a mere 20 years later.

I've seen McAulay's title winning fight with Duke McKenzie. He was a good fighter.... not a flyweight great or anything, but yes, a lot better than a bum like Dunne.

Oh, and since we were discussing him early today... Jofre vs Medel 1. I would check that out if you've never seen it.

Great fight, and a great exhibition of Jofre's devastating offense.

    More like 10-11 years ago.

A shambolic era in Irish history, sporting and otherwise.

    Hilarious and shambolic.

Dunne summed it up, him and his muggy fans.

    LOL

I said Bernard Dunne made better money a mere 20 years LATER!!

Yes, McCaulay was 86-87 and Dunne was 2007/2008.

    Dunne vs McGugian, who wins???

    McGuigan would annihilate that bum

Dunne wasn't fit to spar with McGuigan.

If Dunne fought McGuigan 10 times............he wouldn't complete 10 rounds.

Ironically, the guy doing the commentary here is Dave McCaulay.

He doesn't see any of the punches.

    Neither did Bernard

If nobody at 122 could punch a lick, Dunne would still be World Champion.

He was a very very good boxer, absolute dream of a left hand, natural mover, very fluid.

He had no chin, no strength, and absolutely no power.

    Bad combination.

I never watched much of Dunne. Until you stated that, I had the impression he was a volume/pressure fighter.

SPEAKING of which.... last night I watched a fight I had never seen before that falls into this thread.

Charlie Magri vs Eleoncio Mercedes. HELLUVA war, you ever seen it Irish?
