Marquez would be at least two weight classes bigger

Mismatch. Carbajal way too small for Zarate.

Gonzalez had Carbajal nearly out in their first fight.

    Zarate blows him away.

A better question would be Chocolatito vs Carbajal. Or Lopez vs Carbajal.

McDogg goes crazy about the whole weigh-in thing.

Forget about the bullshit "functional weight" and just look at how HUGE Zarate's frame was for a bantamweight - the dude looked like a welterweight in the Pintor fight. Watch Zarate-Pintor and tell me that Zarate doesnt look like a welter.

He was waaayyyyyyyy too big for little ass Carbajal.

I don't think theres a flyweight in history that beats Zarate. I cant think of one.

What about zarate/Marquez? Is it a legitimate, "fair" match-up? I agree no flyweight is beating Zarate.

Considering Marquez's lack of a great chin, I don't see him withstanding Zarate's power.

There was nothing wrong with Zarate's chin at 118.

Sure, he got blown out by Gomez, but Raf ain't Gomez.

Maybe Harada. That's the only flyweight I can think of who might beat Zarate.

Considering Harada started at flyweight and won the title there, in a massacre of the excellent Pone Kingpetch.

    Weight classes exist

Marquez didn't fight weighing 118 lbs, he fought weighing closer to 130 pounds

    Zarate fought weighing 118-120 pounds

You guys continue to labor under the delusion that this doesn't matter

If it doesn't matter, why do weight classes exist?

Double lolololol in his continued to quest to illustrate how fucking stupid he is, brings up a guy (Carbajal) whose prime years occurred at 108 lbs mostly before dry-out/rehydrate became the routine practice in boxing because he thinks he's making some great point ... what the fuckface doesn't GET is that guys from the more recent eras that weigh what Zarate did in the ring ARE guys we currently call "Light Flyweights" ... that's the whole fucking point. Rafael Marquez was AT LEAST a featherweight by 1970s standards, and really more of a junior lightweight

    IT MATTERS
