Conversations With A Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes

I saw the first episode the other day. If you're familiar with Bundy or the general subject matter there's not much new.

You mean to tell me reasonably attractive and charismatic people can ALSO be violent psychopaths? What a revelation.

If you don't know much about Bundy or are very interested in the psychology of criminals and narcissists it's worth a watch.

 

It's probably meant to appeal to millennials then, as most people of our generation are familiar with the Bundy story.

 

Nothing to do with millennials. Look at the date he was executed.

 

I know about the Ted Bundy murders because at the tinebit was all over the news but not in-depth knowledge at all.

Not like I do with The Yorkshire Ripper, where I've tried to re-enact the crimes using a ball-pein hammer, chisel and speaking with a 'Yourrrksher accent, like'.

I remember seeing an interview with Ann Rule, who had worked with and befriended Bundy at a crisis center and later wrote the famous book "The Stranger Beside Me" about him and her gradual realization and acceptance that he really was a prolific murderer ... it was during the trial in which he infamously represented himself... she recalled that while a forensic dentist was testifying for the prosecution about bite marks in victims matching Bundy's teeth perfectly, Bundy turned his head in her direction and smiled with this expression like "isn't this ridiculous? What are we even doing here?" and she had to run to the bathroom and vomit

He was indeed a sick, evil motherfucker.

He also single handedly changed the way people viewed pyschopaths.

Before Bundy, people had the misconception that psychopaths/killers were easy to spot based on their appearance alone.

It was shocking at the time that a handsome, charming guy like Bundy could be so sick, and evil.

 

Bet he wasn't smiling when those lethal volts from the chair were frying his brain.

 

Between Bundy and Dahmer, Bundy was definitely more evil.

Dahmer at the time of his death had at least realized what a monster he was, and basically said he deserved to die and didn't care if someone killed him.

Bundy had no remorse. None.

 

Dahmer was awful but there was a pathetic sadness about him, he seemed infinitely more human than Bundy

Bundy was utterly remorseless and nothing was ever his fault

 

Only one who rivals, or possibly surpasses Bundy in evil is Albert Fish.

Fish was PURE EVIL.

 

I find it weirdly (and funnily) fascinating how many women were totally drawn and attracted to Bundy during court.

 

Well there's definitely a few more in their class but yeah these guys were absolute monsters

 

He was an excellent con man ... he attracted a few gullible women and also fooled numerous gullible men

Women like bad boys, you can’t do much better than Bundy.

This wasn't a Richard Ramirez situation... Bundy convinced them he was innocent ... ironically, they thought he was a good boy

Do you think I'd make a good serial killer?

 

The two Colombians are every bit as bad, probably worse. Bundy went after adults, those two preferred kids, and were much more prolific. Chikatilo was another one that puts Teddy to shame.

 

Hmmmm...good question.
Could any guy, given the right upbringing and hatred of women in adolescent years, make a good serial killer?
