I actually can watch Rocky in its entirety now than 45mins of The Godfather (which I don't hate - I'm just bored senseless of 'gangsta movies')

 

But if you say "what movie did Fredo die in?", people will answer "The Godfather"

The first two get morphed together or confused constantly

And for the Rocky franchise, there are a lot of people who fall into the following three (cunts that need killing) groups:

1) People who say "pfffffffft Rocky, morelike COCKY, amirite?!?!" and are aware of how insanely stupid all of the sequels are but have forgotten that the first film is actually good

2) people who try to act like ANY of the sequels were good movies which renders the original as indistinguishable

3) people who confuse events from different films and are pretty sure Rocky fights Mr. T in the first one

I've seen The Godfather about 10 times from when I first saw it in 1983 on VHS video and I remember it started to fade around 10 years later when my friend bought that exclusive Coppola Director's Cut boxset which had all three movies but re-edited into chronological order.

The Godfather II, to this day, I've watched twice and all I can remember is something about Cuba?

It was more entertaining and crowd pleaser than those two at a time when even commercial films could snag a nomination, not just participation trophies like 'Black Panther'.

 

Bizarrely, the first Rocky was on TV tonight so we were both lounging on the sofa, she was doing some stuff on the laptop so I watched it again.
It is a great movie and clear Oscar winner over Shitwork, Poxy Driver and All The Gaysident´s Men.
Typical of the 70s in style and pace and some great locations.

Godfather part III is a good, exceptionally well-made film with one major casting flaw ... if it were a standalone film and not a sequel to a two part iconic masterpiece (which you, as a troll cunt who needs his skull cracked into 100 pieces constantly pretends isn't amazing) it would be more highly regarded

I've rewatched Rocky & Rocky II in the last week...then there's a big shift in the fight scenes starting with Rocky III where every punch in the movie is a computer-game haymaker and the sound effect is fuckin ridiculous.

Huge drop between II and III and everything after that is typical mid-80s-onwards shit.

 

I agree. Godfather III has an unwarranted reputation as a bad movie mostly because everyone compares it to parts I & II. The shoot out during the Dons meeting is ridiculous, but other than that it is a very solid and entertaining film. I even think Sophia Coppola’s performance isn’t as bad as people say. Was she miscast? Sure but that probably had more to do with the fact that she doesn’t exactly have the kind of face that makes you think about cousin fucking.

 

Dude created and acted out one of the most beloved characters in history in Rocky Balboa.
