Either for April or May at the Barclays. Does Fury get a fair shake this time?

  2. Fury, pisses it.

    Should be in England.

This time Wilder gets the W.

It will hurt Fury that he's fighting Wilder in his backyard. If the sequel were in England he could just do the same thing and deservedly get the decision. However since the sequel is in U.S I see Fury being more aggressive in order to stop Wilder and walking into something (Fury's chin is shit). I just have a hard time seeing Fury avoiding all of Wilder's punches. Wilder literally missed with couple hundred right hands in the first fight so it will be a hard act for Fury to replicate especially since I see him being more aggressive. Fury could very well ko Wilder because Wilder is shit but I dunno something about Fury makes me feel he chokes. As we stand right now I'll pick Wilder ko'ing an overly aggressive Fury in 4.

Brits tend to do badly in rematches with American fighters.

Lewis beat Holyfield but he arguably turned in a lesser performance than in the first fight.

Conteh lost badly to Matthew Saad Muhammad in their rematch.

Turpin got stopped by Ray Robinson in their rematch.

Cooper had far less success in the rematch with the now Muhammad Ali.

I don’t see much changing in a rematch.

Fury will do his usual and Wilder will try to land one big shot only this time it won’t come.

Fury via closer scored UD than the reality.

The obvious pick is for a fitter, sharper fury to win more easily. But you never know

You really think that it has an impact on the outcome of this match?

I won't make any firm picks until after I consult my horoscope.

  10. I dont think it has any impact or effect whatsoever on this rematch.

Wilder was shit before Fury, he´s shit now and he´ll be just as shit in the rematch.
If the so-called biggest P4P hitter in boxing who holfds the WBC belt, can´t put away a 3-useless-comeback-fight guy who´s been dealing with mental issues and just lost 100lb in weight...at the start of the 12th fuckin round....he ain´t doing shit in the rematch no matter how hard he tries.

    Easy, easy fight for Fury.
    Easier than the first one.

Fury could go on a bender and be totally unprepared

Outside of that, probably look like the first fight ... shite, windmill-punching basketball player is baffled by big flabby pig who utilizes what were once commonplace boxing tactics ... at some point the basketball retard hurts the hirsute tinker pig who recovers and winds up winning a decision... fightbeat posters declare the winner a boxing master strategist and the loser the greatest puncher in history

No shit...........an actual front-page story of a major UK broadsheet the other day was some fucking girl saying she had been "Whitewashed" in her cover shoot.

    Fury has probably been airbrushed.

As it stands currently, Thurman-Garcia has the record for the biggest boxing crowd ever at Barclays Center.

I think it's very safe to say that record is going in the shitter if this one gets announced.

Brooklyn is gonna be PACKED TO CAPACITY for this one!

... while cdogg takes a puff of his cigar, sets his had straight and grunts how it all has been downhill since guys who could really box, Jim Corbett and Peter Jackson, went for it

My parody is spot on ... but this^ is totally at odds with my established views on the sport's development, rise, peak and decline

You're finnished in this town, you'll never work here again

Should Fury really be punished because he's got a proper fighters mentality and knows how to move and box a bit?

Just because skills like his were "commonplace once" {i.e. at boxings best there were 10 guys per division who were as relaxed as he was} why should that reflect badly on him?

Society really doesn't produce kids like that, the sort that know how to handle their dukes from the age of 5......the Jewish and Irish and Italian ghettos are gone, it's not the 1930's anymore, when some anaemic Jewish kid who weighed about 105 could drop pick your pocket and drop you with the same hand.

Black fighters toiling away in some gym in St Louis or Cincinnati for £400 a fight, beating each other up 3 times a month for a shot at one Champ.......doesn't exist anymore.

Today, Marciano would be eating steroids and beating people up outside Clubs like some goombah caricature.

But none of this is Fury's fault.

Name me those hundreds of guys with Fury's skills AND his 6'9 size.

Nobody has ever suggested that he was an especially skilled boxer, it is his combination of good technique and huge size that makes him difficult to beat. And size is a talent, as much as speed or punching power are

Size combined with the ability to use it, is a talent.

Size on its own, is an advantage.

One guy is Lewis, or Vitali, or Fury.

The other guy is Primo Carnera.

  23. cdogg187

    How is he being punished?

He didn't beat Wilder because he's 6'9 ... he did it because he learned how to box and Wilder didn't

Part of the reason I picked Fury the first time despite the layoff and questions about him was because unlike Wilder, he is a fighter first and foremost, whereas Wilder is a talented athlete who can punch.

Fury doesn’t look spectacular doing what he does. He will never be confused for an Ali that’s for sure. He’s just efficient enough to beat a one dimensional, crude slugger like Wilder.

    He’d school AJ as well.

What I mean is your criticism of him appears to be that he knows how to box and other people don't.

My point is..........that's hardly HIS fault.

I never said it was but it means nothing in the context of how he'd fare if people still knew how ... Bernard Hopkins was able to be relevant as a 50 year old at 175 on much the same principle ... I think Jerry "The Bull" Martin probably kicks his head in

  27. cdogg187

Agree... I think he'd beat AJ... the only question is if he stays fit enough out of the ring

I don't get why people claims Fury doesn't look impressive. I think it's incredibly impressive to see such a huge man move the way he does

  29. puerto rock

puerto rock WBC Silver Diamond Emeritus Champ

    Perhaps I should rephrase.

To ME, he’s impressive because a man of his size and I guess, APPEARANCE shouldn’t be able to move as fluidly or as quick as he does.

He’s as unathletic looking as it comes but looks are deceiving.

If appearances are anything, it looks like he has, thus far. Hopefully if he beats Wilder again, he doesn’t lose his mind like after he beat Wlad.
