I am not a Kovalev fan, in or out of the ring, always regarded him as a bully, both ways.

yes, he probably did beat Ward first time.

But this is the most impressive win of his career.

It was shit or bust, and he found a way to get it.

That was a cool interview Reed - I really liked the way you let McGirt talk and expand on his points. No interviewer interruption or grandstanding which seems to ruin most interactions like these. Good job.

    ‘Preciate it Bruh.

REED’s Still Working Out his Interview Technique. Need to STOP Asking “How Are You” at the Beginning (Nervous Habit), as it Adds NATHAN of Substance.

You’re Right Though, a Lot of Dudes Make Their Interveiws about THEM Instead of the Person Being Interviewed. Talking TOUGH and/or Trying to Showcase THEIR Boxing Knowledge at the Subjects Expense.

Fuck That. Ask Your Questions, Shut Up and Listen. Rinse, Repeat.

I met Buddy back in 2009 or 2010. I was going to the gym for a work out and as I was walking in he walked out the door, and HE extended his hand to ME. I remember just saying “An honor to meet you.” And he replied “Pleasure is all mine.”

Seems like a really humble guy.

Or they go into ass kissing mode hoping it may get them more interviews in the future. "You're so awesome, what's it like being so great?"

One question I wish that was retired forever is "how is training camp going?". I understand that it's kind of a natural question to ask but you're never going to get an answer other than "it's going well." Some fighters might elaborate a bit you always know what the response will be so it's kind of a pointless question.

Ditto, although I think that's almost the boxing equivalent of the "How are you?" that Reed mentioned.

It would be good if someone replied, just once, to the effect, "It's going crap to be honest, my timing is terrible, I'm hardly sleeping, constantly tired, got the shits as well. I'm almost certain I'm going to lose".

That might throw the interviewer off a bit.

Yeah I actually thought about that when I posted but I don't think it's quite equivalent. Asking how somebody is doing is pretty standard for any kind of interview. Has nothing to with sports or boxing. It's just an opening line ice breaker sort of question. When it comes to training camp I think you can ask a lot of questions regarding that even as openers without asking the usual "how is training going".

    No Doubt.

Especially with a Fighter Like Spence, Who’s as GUARDED As Any REED’s Ever Been Around, Pre-Fight.

Even When Interviewers Try Keen Eye BS on Him Based on a Sparring Session or the Way Derrick James was Holding the Mitt’s a Particular Day, the MOST You’ll Typically Get Out of Him is “I Don’t Know, We’ll Have to See”.

On the Flipside, He’ll Reveal EVERY Flaw he Saw in a Guy Once the Fight is Over.

    That Would Be HILARIOUS!

“Worst Camp i’ve Ever Had, Honestly. I Feel LESS Confident Day by Day and I’m Looking for ANY Excuse to Get Out Of This. Thanks for Asking!”

That's pretty close to the interview fighters give when they lose.

During camp: "It's going great, everything is according to schedule. Weight, conditioning it's all coming together. Also my trainer brought in a variety of guys to spar with an we're working on new things. My opponent is in for a surprise"

After a loss: "The whole camp was a mess from beginning to end"

I understand not wanting to give away that things many not be going great but don't do a total 180 afterward.

Talking of hilarious. I went on your channel to look up some more videos, and was watching the Donald Curry one. He's a bit harder to understand nowadays, so I put the Youtube subtitles on. In the third episode, according to the Google Speech recognition algorithm, he talks about when he fought "Milkman Corey" and how he was hoping for fights with "Shit Array and Hagler".

Yes. I often notice in the "Members Online" part of this site that it says "Robot is viewing so and so thread etc". Perhaps the Google Bot has read about Leonard-Hagler and "Shit Array" is an actual appraisal of him?

Google's Deep Mind and Alpha Zero seems to understand more than humans and the most advanced computer engines so it's possible.
