Didn't even bother watching it. DeGale has been shot for ages now. He's always been more skilled than he gets credit for on here but by the same token he's always been a lazy cunt in the ring, even at his best, and would let rounds slip by just by virtue of doing fuck all. As much as I can't stand Eubank and think he's shit, the guy always comes to fight and has a great engine. I knew that would be enough in this fight at this point in their careers, if you can get outworked by Truax (arguably twice), you're not beating Eubank.
In the end, DeFail's best wins were against Andre Dirrell and Bute. Problem is, both those guys peaked circa 2009, so beating them at the time DeFail did meant nothing. Jack beat the living shit outta him, and got a criminal draw. DeGale was a bum.
He tried hard. I will give him that. One of the "Golden Generation" of astoundingly average Olympic-medalist boxers by the standards of yore. Him and Fun Time Francis Gavin won major amateur honours, Worlds, Olympic Golds, but never quite hacked it at the pro game. DeGale had Groves, had him, and let him go. Ironically, in what was supposed to be a routine assignment for DeGale, he lost a fight which had he won would have been a much much bigger win in the overall picture.
