Spence was spectacular but let's not (xplosive) go overboard. Everybody predicted a landslide for Spence and that's what we saw.

Also, it does matter that Mikey was never impressive above super featherweight. Just like Loma's dominating of Rigo wasn't as impressive as if he had done it against bantamweight Rigo.

Spence is clearly the best welterweight but he has a lot to prove before being p4p #1

 

Then who's the clear P4P #1 then?

People tear Crawford's wins to shreds, and Rigo remains the biggest name Loma has beaten.

So right now, there really is no CLEAR CUT best fighter in the world. One could say Loma, Crawford, or Spence, and it wouldn't be a bad answer.

Hell, we don't mention Inoue enough in that conversation. Inoue might very well be the best fighter in the world.

 

One thing's for certain, Spence's performance last night AUTOMATICALLY tops whatever Crawford does to Khan next month. Mikey is a top fighter in his prime, whereas Khan was ALWAYS shit, and is even shittier now cause he's declined.

If he dominates and destroys Khan, so what? If he wins in a struggle, he stock drops.

 

Last night was a fucking farce.

 

Hey, Mikey wanted it, didnt he? This fight didnt materialize because Spence called him out. Mikey was the one who insisted that Spence was ordinary, and just "big".

The man deserves credit. He completely outclassed a guy who many consider the most skilled fighter in the world.

If this was purely a size issue, Mikey would have had more success.

Spence looked like the more complete technician.

 

I never attributed blame. I just said it was a farce, and I was referring to the entire affair, including the undercard, and the shitty camera work.

Very poor fare all around.

 

Fox certainly cant hold a candle to HBO when it comes to producing a fight. That part was indeed a joke.

 

As expected, Garcia was just too small. He got touched up from range and didn’t have the strength or power to make anything count in close.

Spence looked good but it is what it is.

 

If HBO was so great they would still be producing fights. HBO dug their own graves...phonetap hates Fox as a network but they will get better with time...hopefully!

 

Speak for yourself. If Crawford dominates, the victory will be a good one.

 

The head brass at HBO decided to dedicate their resources to producing more original content, because the truth is, with the way the times have changed, Netflix is a threat to put HBO outta business one day IF HBO doesnt innovate. THAT'S a big reason why they dropped boxing.

But doesnt mean they weren't very good at it, cause they were.

 

Errol Spence is a better fighter than Mikey Garcia.

I know it's a hard pill for you to swallow, given how much disdain you have for fighters of your own race, but its true.

 

Khan is coming off going life and death with Samuel Vargas. Not Fernando Vargas, not even Jesse Vargas... Samuel Vargas.

Let that sink in.

Khan is purely a name at this point.

If Crawford doesnt blitz him in dominant fashion, his stock drops.

 

Crawford will beat Spence if they ever fight each other.

Saying that, Spence was quality last night.

 

Once Game of Thrones is done HBO is toast. Netflix about to take HBO out like they did Blockbuster. But this a different topic.

 

Damn Garcia looked inept. His stock has to drop following this debacle even though it was pretty much a given he was going to lose. Spence is definitely quality but I hope we see him vs the Thurman and Crawford of the world soon enough, or even the Garcia or Porter (and yes I know its seems he's the only one making a push for those). WW has a lot of potential super fight, but what we have been given recently is simply not compelling.

 

I dont see what Spence vs Danny Garcia would prove. Mikey is a higher caliber technician than Danny.

Spence would use Cherry Garcia as a punching bag. I had Danny losing to a man that Spence toyed with (Peterson).

Let's be honest, Crawford-Spence is the only compelling fight at welterweight.

We all know good and damn well that Thurman and Porter cant beat Spence.

 

I'd rather see Spence vs. Hurd

 

I've never heard of either guy.

 

Hurd has too many fucking holes for me to pick him over Spence.

If Lara were younger, and sharper, he woulda beaten Hurd.

Spence has the youth to maintain a pace that old man Lara couldnt handle.

I honestly think he would outclass Hurd.

Crawford is THE THREAT to Spence. Not these other guys.

 

Spence might be a better p4p fighter than Garcia but you weren’t going to learn that watching them fight each other because they weigh different amounts of pounds. Do you really Spence wouldn’t have had more trouble if Garcia was 4 inches taller with more reach and nearly as strong as Spence? Of course not, he was a complete underdog because he was the smaller man.

Spence (and Garcia) is one of my favorite active fighters. The only time I have anything negative to say is in response to the kind of hyperbole you throw out.
