I think Spence would "beat" Canelo, btw. I put "beat" in quotations because obviously Spence would have slim odds of getting the verdict. But I think he'd objectively outbox the lil juicing plodder.
There's only one way to find out who's the better of the two. I wish Arum and Haymon would stop bullshitting so we can stop speculating about it. Pretty sure Arum already has TC's next victim lined up after Khan - it's gonna be Jose Ramirez. After Ramirez just struggled with a bum, TR probably feels it's time to cash him out.
Can't believe Arum is a) still alive or b) still being a difficult cunt. At what point in life does one think "okay, Im 80 years old. Maybe time to slow down and be a bit more compromising" But no, this fucktard just goes on and on. I hope he dies of cancer and it takes 2 years.
Don't try to play the "everything is subjective" card. Everybody who doesn't have an agenda can see that these guys have a better resume than crwaford objectivelty
It ain't nothin new, Tap. I didn't form that opinion after Saturday. I've saying back as early as 2015 that I'd take Spence over Canelo. Provided of course, that he has the chin to handle Canelo's pop. Canelo cant outbox Spence, as Spence is a much higher caliber technician. And his lil spurt fighting ass certainly isnt outworking Spence. He would have to land enough big shots to either stop Spence, or hurt him often. That IS possible, but I think Spence's jab would neutralize Canelo's offense.
HBO Boxing Crumbled Because they were Tooooo ARROGANT to Reestablish a Working Relationship w/Al Haymon… No Matter What ANYBODY Says, FACT Is, HBO Sodomized Showtime in Regards to Boxing UNTIL Haymon Took His Stable to Showtime...Yes, HBO was WELL Established Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay PRIOR to Haymon, but They're OWN Arrogance is What Forced Them Out of Network Boxing. REED
Don't discount the Netflix angle though, REED. HBO is a dinosaur, they're fighting to survive. That meant cutting boxing. Part of their arrogance is thinking that nobody could ever match their content, now look at em - the ONLY thing they got left is GOT, which is coming into its final season. So they're probably in panic mode trying to compete with Netflix, which is currently giving them a one sided ass whuppin.
True, but shouldn't that be even more of a reason to keep boxing being it's something Netflix doesn't offer?
Id like to see spence against pac. Pac is still useful, as we could see in his destruction of mathysse. I expect spence to win big, but it still an interesting matchup, and at the very least, it will make, as x said, spence a mainstream name
True. HBO is toast after the final season of GOT. They screwed up boxing and their original shows. HBO was always able to generate pop culture shows like The Soprano's, The Wire, True Blood, Deadwood, Boardwalk Empire and ect. They have nothing to be excited about anymore. True Detective is good but not enough to carry the network. For HBO, Winter is Here...
Matty Ice has been shot for SEVERAL years now. That fight shows little about what Pac has left. Manny looked pretty average against Broner imo. Sure, he won every round, but I dont think he looked impressive. I think Spence will get Manny outta there.
The fight we'll probably get next is Spence-Porter. The clock is probably running out on both guys at 147. Spence has the skills and size to make noise at 154 but Porter doesn't.
Why do you say that? Seems like the more likely matchup is Pacquiao. What I would like to see is Porter vs Pacquiao. Man, when you factor in that none of the top guys are willing to face each other, all the "champs" are guaranteed shit comp they can easily beat. I guess that's the point. Crawford is ranked #1 and yet his next fight, on PPV no less, is against a guy ranked at 12.
I don't either but I don't see the Crawford or Pacquiao fights getting made. Porter and Thurman are the realistic options and I don't think Thurman wants any part of Spence.
Why do you think the pac fight cannot be made? Pac specifically signed with pbc so he could get better fights at 147
I think the Spence fight is too high risk and not enough reward for Pacquiao. I see him cashing out with an easier/lower risk fight.
High risk, but the reward will also be high. Haymon is gonna pay Pac a lot of money to get his ass kicked
If I had Jeff Bezos type money I'd make an arrangement with Pacman to face some anonymous scrub on PPV and order it hundreds of thousands of time to well eclipse Floyd's earnings. Then I'd have him go on TV interviews everywhere with new moniker Manny "More Money than Mayweather" Pacquiao.
