What Makes it Increasingly Harder to Take Boxing Messageboards Seriously Are Posters of YOUR Ilk Doub…

Back in 2001, YOU Singled Out Julio Gonzalez as Someone Roy Jones WASN'T Fighting But SHOULD Fight...Nonetheless, AFTER Roy Wiped his Ass w/Gonzalez, YOU Chose to Say You Were Being "Facetious" All the While, Instead of Actually Giving a Fighter You LOATHE (to This Very Day) the Least Bit of Credit...

You Love to Attribute "Idol Worship" or Whatever Else to Boxing's Downfall, Yet it's the FAILURE of Fucks Like YOU, to EVER Lend the Slightest Level of Credence to Fighters ACROSS THE FUCKING BOARD, that Leads to Motherfuckers Picking and Choosing in A Lot of Cases...

If a Motherfucker is DEADSET on NEVER Been Satisfied w/WHAT You Do, What's the Fucking Point? YOUR Mindset is WORSE than Idol Worship, Because Your Specialty is NEVER Been Pleased w/Select Fighters...

Shittiest Form of Fandom in ANY Sport...

    He's a Legit 5'9 1/2"- 5' 10"...

Taller than the Likes of Floyd, Sugar Shane, Canelo, etc. for Certain....Yet Shorter than DeLa By a Tad...Noticeably Shorter than the Charlo's...

Damn REED...you went back to 2001, LOL.

Hard to believe, many people here have been posting for nearly 20 years. Personally phonetap remembers spoon feeding his baby daughter Gerber posting on boxing forums and now she is a college student.

    Time flies...

I agree. If Spence-Crawford happens the end of this year, it could see it very good PPV numbers.

But that would make too much sense.

The fight won't happen for another few years prob.

If the fight doesn't happen it's an Arum-Haymon, Fox/ESPN issue. Not because of the fighters.

It's incredible how nearly everybody is giving a pass to Crawford to face such mediocre opposition. Guy signed with Arum weven though he knew well that it meant that it would be almost impossible to land the big fights

Thing is, you can hardly blame the guy. He's ranked #1 p4p, depending who you ask, he's rated the #1 welterweight somehow by Boxrec. And he fills seats in his hometown - apparently, regardless who his opponent is. And if he really cared about fighting Pacquiao, wouldn't he have made the necessary concessions? He clearly had no leverage. The fact the fight never happened certainly did not hold Pacquiao back.

REED Frowned Upon Crawford's RECENT Re-signing with Top Rank for Sure...Like You Said, the Writing was CLEARLY On the Wall That Any and All MEANINGFUL Welterweight Bouts Would Be w/Haymon Fighters...

Yet Even Though Arum GROSSLY Underpromoted Crawford (Until the 11th Hour), he Re-signed w/Him Anyways...Wasn't the Most AMBITIOUS Move On Crawford's Behalf, for Sure...

Like You Just Said, Crawford had ZERO Leverage and Would've Gladly LUBED HIMSELF and Taken it Up the Ass @ the Negotiating Table, to Get That Fight...He Needed the NAME "Pacquiao" More than Anything Else...The Money Would've Followed w/a Win...

Crawford-Pac Didn't Happen Because Pac Didn't Want it OR Arum Didn't Want It...

Interesting, I thought he looked a decent height, not a manlet - ie probably his listed height.

But did you see him next to Pacquiao in the ring? He seemed to look only about an inch taller. Maybe it was camera angles, or Pacquiao was wearing lifts or high heels :D

Pacquiao turned down the Crawford fight numerous times. Arum and Crawford clearly wanted it

Spence-Pac would do over 1 million buys, bill it as Pacquiao's retirement match

Camera Angles, Thick Soled "Street" Shoes, vs. Spence in Boxing Shoes, Who Knows? :D

Breaking it Down, Depending on the Footwear, Spence Is Either AS Tall or Slightly SHORTER Than REED, Who's Right @ 5'10....REED's Stood Next to DeLa a Time or 2 Over the Years and Was Either AS Tall or Slightly SHORTER than Him....REED's Also Stood Next to Floyd, Reasonably Close to Canelo and was Taller Than Both....But Like Spence, REED Looks Upward @ the Charlo Brothers...

That Said, ALL Those Dudes are Considerably TALLER Than Manny...Mikey Isn't, But Even Canelo IS....Hell, Shawn Porter's LISTED as 5'7, and CLEARLY Taller than Manny...

Testament to How GREAT Manny Was!....

No. But saying Pacquiao turned down the fight doesn't tell me anything. Pacquiao doesn't exactly have a track record of ducking people. Seems likely he was turning down shit offers from Arum.

I dont know what was offered to the guy exactly but there were multiple offers

Let's face it, that fight wasnt gonna threaten the Mayweather Pacquiao ppv mark. Check out pacquiao's numbers vs vargas and matthysse

Haymon may be willing to overpay him to get beatdown by spence

As he should. Spence has to be priority number one in Haymon's stable. He realizes that Spence is his best fighter and his biggest potential superstar.

He has to realize that shitty Wilder's reign is only temporary, whereas Spence can become a star for years to come.

Whereas Arum has always had Loma as his number one priority, until recently at least.

But since Crawford and Loma are no spring chickens, Top Rank probably sees its REAL future star as Lopez.

I doubt Pacquaio has any short term retirement plans, I would expect careful matchmaking, Pacquaio-Garcia (Danny), or against Porter, possibly Thurman at some point...Spence would give him a beat down which would hurt his future earning potential
