    lack of originality...


    that said if they can pull a decent Flash Gordon & a BETTER Black Hole remakes, I am all for it. The original Black Hole script was supposed to be a hardcore science, cold, dark scifi movie, BUT Disney produced it and turned it into a Star Wars & Captain Nemo rip-off. I still can remember the enormous letdown I felt watching that turkey (yes, little kids loved it particularly the stupid cute cartoonish robots, but anyone older than 8 years old was having a hard time accepting these silly creations).

    Wrong. The original is a silly Star Wars rip off, the script for a planned 2008 remake was considered too dark for a disney film so it's been on ice until now .

    I would have really liked a too dark for Disney version of The Black Hole. That’s taking into account I never saw the original.

    Read again what I wrote. The original darker script for the 1980 film was revamped to the silly version that was filmed. Yet it still has some traces of the original script (the reanimated dead crew that runs the ship). The 2008 shelved project was going back to the original discarded screenplay...and got discarded AGAIN for being 'too dark for Disney'.
