Casino Royale, Bronson, Billy Liar, Barry Lyndon, Wolf of Wall Street....all on the fucking telly at the same time.
:: yeah I remember that line now. Smart-ass old Jewish guy had all the answers. I found Pelham on the map today. Man it's out in the ass of nowhere.......
Can Leicester do it. It's possible It's Rodgers.....it's the last guy who got this close........and it's the last Romantic story in World Sports.....it could just be. I won't stop believing until it's totally dead. Arsenal didn't in '89. And City didn't in 2012.
Mental scenes in the Leeds-Villa game yesterday. I always say play to the whistle. Was there a head injury? No. The way the players reacted was so over the top and players going over pretending like they were punched in the face. Cheating cunts. Hate the game sometimes when shit like that happens.
Posh area, really... but literally a few minutes away from authentic Bronx funk That particular train starts at Pelham Bay Park and goes down to Hunt's Point ... a decidedly not posh locale
I think Leeds did the right thing by scoring, I said that the minute Hut posted the clip. Then I saw the Leeds players attack one of their own cos he didn't get the memo about letting Villa score. Absolute nonsense. The Villa player who went down hurt himself making a foul-challenge......there was no clash of heads and if Villa's full back wants to stop and admire the scenery then that's his problem. Again, the commentators would sooner harp on about what a good job Biesla did instead of what a shit job Villa did.
"Hunts Point is a low-income residential neighborhood largely made up of Puerto Ricans"................well I never. :: :: I was going to buy some fireworks down there just the other day and these two guys, Vinnie and Louie, they told me don't go down there, give us your money , wait here and we will be back with your fireworks. I think they will be back any minute now.
That's two in a week, albeit they exceeded the Glaswegian Life Expectancy by about 30 years or more. Tommy Smith died too.
To my shame I hadn't noticed his absence on Saturday....albeit the tannoy system is pish and I'm up the very, very top
Weird seeing top EPL sides being so inconsistent domestically yet advancing deep into Europe this year. Yes, the title race has been only about two clubs for a while now but can this all be put down to "focus"?
Maybe, but is it good quality on one side, or reduced quality on the other? Arsenal in particular have looked absolute trash at points this year but they managed to get into the Europa semifinal.
Just shows you how good the premier$hip is, to my mind. Going on what I saw against them a couple rounds ago, I'm sure they'll brush aside valencia too
The form of the Bundesliga sides has been the biggest surprise of European competition this year, IMO
The thing is when top EPL sides gets knocked out there is often the excuse that they don't really care about the Europa. Now that they're winning is it because they're taking it more seriously?
I fear the 50+1 rule rather than spreading will slowly erode and the Bundesliga will start being like every other league in Europe. It will help some clubs for sure, but overall it will be a net loss for the sport. The transfer policy and amount of players a club can own needs to be overhauled.
It's about the stability as a base and the money, management and focus on top of it all. Klopp and Baldy have been at their clubs for longer than any of the other guys at Man United, Arsenal Chelsea, they have been spending, and they are good managers. Spurs have had stability but not quite the same, I mean they have been playing on the road most of the year and Levy is a notorious bean counter.
Aye - try finding space amongst the five widescreen tellys, two giant electronic scoreboards, three pool tables, full size snooker table, six dartboards and a small swimming pool.
