Yeah, even though they are two down I'd favor their chances of the two non English sides to progress. They're at home and Arsenal's defending has been atrocious at times. If Valencia score first and early it's not hard to imagine the gooners bottling it.

Valencia were the better side for long stretches of the first leg as well.

Valencia already passed the stiffest test in the whole tournament by defeating Celtic

Pretty remarkable that the likelihood is that none of the four will be crowned champs, either. Time for feebes to begrudgingly admit that the standard of the premiership is sort of alright-ish?

Let's be real, Beardsley, Shearer, Ferdinand... they'd struggle to get in as late subs for Huddersfield nowadays

I wonder how many blue chip players will be on the move this summer. Pogba and Hazard apparently want out. Chelsea has a transfer ban so they'll be desparate to keep Hazard. Barcelona want rid of Coutinho but expect offers north of €105m. Lol good luck with that.

They paid around 160 and want to recoup some of their losses but it doesn't matter. There are only a handful of clubs that can afford it and who among them would pay in the neighborhood of 100 million?? Maybe PSG?

Some kind of swap deal seems the only realistic proposition.

If Klopp is a stand up guy he should offer Barcelona 40-50m for Coutinho.

I think Starr was a greaseball but there was never any proof or even evidence that he harmed anybody and was treated disgracefully.

Actually, I did that last year, when performances in Europe were clearly better. This year the improvement has continued and the results are obvious. And I also accept that Ingerland are once again producing good players (and afleets). The cycle appears to have turned again.

Two caveats. Firstly, the resurgence has coincided with the obvious decline of Barca, Bayern etc. That helped narrow the gap. Secondly, there are still obviously thirteen awful premier League teams. The top six or seven are strong and fairly competitive but the rest are shockingly poor. I think Wolves have won more games against the top six than everyone between 8th and 20th combined...

I take that as a sign of the top teams now being absurdly good rather than the obverse but I'm a gless half full sort....based on the simple observation that the premiership'a now harvesting about a third of the top talent from around planet earth, every team is packed with internationals. Shite teams, does not compute

Fulham and Huddersfield are 'full of international' players. But having lots of Serbians and Ecuadorian internationals isn't quite the same as being full of French, English or Belgians.

But its apparently better than having the type of nowhere-near international English players they wouldve have had 25 years ago

England internationals were widely spread through more teams back then. And because there were far more English players, being 'just short' of international class meant those players were still often very good. Excellent players like Robbie Fowler, Matt Le Tissier, Rob Lee, Stan Collymore, Steve Bruce etc weren't regular 'internationals' but would walk into any of the 'rest of the teams' in the PL today. Besides, this 'best players all playing for the same ten teams in Europe' sia modern trend created by money.
