Another bit about the post-game Warrior celebration not being KD-centric...

After game one the Rockets sent a memo to the NBA office complaining about last year's conference finals and how the refs had a direct affect on who won the championship. Weak move by the franchise.

    Quotes from the memo:

“Referees likely changed the NBA champion,” says the memo, addressed to Byron Spruell, the NBA’s president of league operations. “There can no be no worse result for the NBA.”

The Rockets also argue in their memo that veteran officials “exhibit the most bias against our players.”

“The reason we are in this situation,” the memo says, “is the efforts made to improve the referees have been too slow, not extensive enough, and have been held back by entrenched referees who are resisting reform.” The Rockets recommended that referee assignments in the postseason should be determined “exclusively” by call accuracy without regard to experience level.

The Rockets claim they were robbed in 2018's Game 7 after auditing NBA refs

LA fans planning a protest over Buss giving her best friend and husband actual jobs in the Lakers organization. Also fans on social media have already given Jason Kidd the nickname “Kiddle Finger” based on his history of backstabbing and overall “game of coaching chairs” politics. Word is the mayor of LA even declared that LA is now a Clipper’s town.

Are we sure Jennie Buss is any better of an owner than her brother was, because I’d say she’s easily been much worse. The Lakers are on some Knicks level of dysfunction here.

I think in my mind if Siakam didn't blow out his calfs that would be the case, but now Toronto has an excuse if they bow down to Milwaukee

knicks want to trade williamson for davis if they strike lottery gold. Id keep williamson, who will be on the cheap for 4 years and sign two other big free agents if possible

I'd keep him as well if I knew I'd get Durant and Kyrie. Like you said, his next 4 years won't be anywhere near what Kyrie and Durant get.

I don't think Zion will be a franchise changer but paired with two other guys he will be box office and a highlight reel.

The only trade that will happen with Zion is if the Lakers win the #1 pick

I think Zion will be a bigger franchise changer than the oft injured Davis ever could be. Hell, Zion is likely more popular and definitely more liked than Davis is right now.

Actually they just said at the draft that The Knicks have no intention of trading Zion if they get him.

Now instead of being traded for him, Zion gets to play with Anthony Davis

So now the Dubs with Curry and no Durant are gonna go 31-4 in the last 35 games. And Davis still doesn't want to stay in NO despite them winning Zion. So clearly the logical move is KD opts-in and they trade KD for Davis.

If Davis doesn’t want to stay in N.O it’s for the same reason no superstar would want to go play with Zion. They wouldn’t want to be upstaged because they know everyone is going to like Zion better and it immediately becomes his team.

last nights game golden state moved the ball well, certainly better than they did the last game against houston. but, portland looked completely unprepared. kanter is so awful on pick & roll defense they tried to hide him and it failed miserably. just a poor, poor effort defensively by portland overall.

I don’t think that failed pick and roll coverage was on Kanter. I think the coaches chose to have Kanter drop back on coverage in the pick and roll rather than blitzing it. I think it was coaching because for one, Collins was doing the same thing when he played center and the team never adjusted to it the whole game. I was completely baffled by it because Steph was killing them.

This had to be the most consistently open looks Steph has seen in the playoffs and some of the dumbest coaching I’ve seen in a while.

And yet I would love to have him on my team. By the way, that late turnover wasn’t Green’s fault. Middleton kicked Green in the leg by accident and tripped him and the refs swallowed their whistles for the most part tonight. That definitely made for a better viewing experience.

Someone Asked Coach Stotts About That in the Post Game Press Conference...

Dude Basically Said "Coach, Do You Regret Having Kanter Stay Under the Screens to Free Up Steph, as Opposed to Going Over the Screen and/or Possibly Trapping Him?"

Irritated, Stotts Responded "Did Houston Trap Curry on Pick and Rolls in the 2nd Half of Game 6?"

    Reporter: Yes
Stotts: And Didn't Curry Have Like 33pts in the 2nd Half of Game 6
    Reporter: Yes

That’s a dumb way of thinking. So basically his conclusion is: it’s better to give Steph wide open threes as opposed to contested ones.

I say blitz the screen, get Curry off the three point line and he either gets blocked, or he kills you at the rim for 2 points at a time. That’s still better than him hitting a hundred threes.

I also just heard a few of Stotts players went in on him about his defense at the post game presser. Lillard was one as well as Evan Turner who claimed he’s been dealing with this (Portland’s crap defense) for three years.
