The best matchup of 2019, and now we can finally discuss it.

    Who wins?

I think Prograis is the real deal,..kinda how you feel about Inoue.

Taylor is tough,..really has no weaknesses.
Hits hard, better than average hand speed, great stamina very good defense for his style.
Progarius smokes him inside of 4

I think Inoue is the best fighter in the world.

I don't think Regis is among the top 5 best in the world, although I'm very high on him.

But based on today's performance, I do like Prograis to win.

Taylor gets hit a good deal more than Regis does. And Baranchyk did hurt him, in the 5th I believe. He's just too crude to follow up.

If Regis can hurt him, Josh is in trouble, considering Regis is 10x more accurate than Barachyk.

I don't think Taylor looked that hurt in all honesty, he got hit with some good shots no doubt but I was never concerned. I still think the Prograis fight is 50/50.

It was a good fight. Not close at all, but I reckon Baranchyk fared better than many of us expected. He's a tough SOB.

Taylor won like 9-3, or 10-2, plus two KD's.

I'll take Regis by TKO here. I used to see him in action against the Charlo Twins, Omar Henry, Vanes Martirosyan and Juan "Baby Bull" Diaz and he always more than held his own, even when he was a kid. He is super strong, ringwise beyond his years and hits extremely hard.

For some reason the fight doesn't really interest me, even though both are good and unbeaten and it probably be a fast-paced battle. I think Prograis has the edge

REED Likes Rougarou in This One...

Josh Taylor is VERY Good...Tall, Quick, Even Handed Power, Can Lead or Counter Effectively, But He's a Crowd Pleaser Almost to a Fault @ Times...Toooooo Combative for His Own Good @ Times...Not a COMPLAINT, Necessarily, More of a Gift-Curse Quality Taylor Possesses...

He Doesn't Need to "Run" from Prograis to Win, but Taylor CANNOT Stay in Range of Return Fire as Much as he's Done in Other Fights...He's Got to GET his, Disengage, Pivot, Circle, Rinse, Repeat...And REED's Not Sure Taylor's Willing to Do That, Especially if he's Fighting In Front of a Rabid Scottish Crowd...

REED Doesn't Like How Easily Taylor's Skin Seems to Mark Up Either...Dude Virtually Dominated Baranchyk, Yet Walked Away w/Cuts On Both Sides of his Face...Taylor's Shown More Vulnerability and a More POROUS Defense than Prograis as Well...

Prograis Matter of Factly States he's "Never Been in a Tough Pro Fight"...That Will Change w/Josh Taylor, Undoubtedly...But REED's Leaning Towards Prograis By Stoppage Mid to Late...

Even if Taylor boxes and stays smart I dunno if he wins. Regis looks like the better technician. He's slightly less "fast twitchy" than Josh, but he's the more complete technician imo.

Seems to me that either a war or a chess match favors Regis. But Taylor's best chance is a chessmatch... cause it looks doubtful he can beat Prograis in a tear up.

Pretty much how I see it. I remember it was Xplosive who alerted me to Taylor, and I couldn't believe I hadn't seen him fight before. He's clearly the best fighter in the UK now imo, clearly better than Joshua.

The thing is, Reggie Progress is also clearly legit, and the styles probably favour him.

Like REED said, Reggie is quite a physically imposing fighter - strong and powerful. Josh is rangey and skilled, but he does love a tear up. I think he could win if he fought a disciplined fight at range, but in a tear up you'd hafta favour Reggie.

Regis has the advantage in the corner IMO with Bobby Benton of Savarese Fight Fit Gym who trained my late friend.

Bobby is on the cusp of becoming one of the top trainers in the sport, and should be recognized as such in the next 5 years

Looks like Prograis-Taylor is gonna take place first week in October in the UK.

I've got Prograis by late stoppage.

If Regis can handle all those Diaz pivots in sparring, what the fuck is Ramirez gonna show him differently?
