I saw a few omens along the way;.......the best one I read today, a few hours before the game......apparently there used to be an old time sheriff in Louisiana called Henderson Jordan. He got his Spurs fighting Bonnie and Clyde. Tonight, Jordan Henderson got his too.....

"Normally I am pissed 20 minutes after the game"........

Amazing thing about these players and the management......................Klopp saying he is happy for his family. Origi and Salah saying happy for the team. Guys who didn't play who are happy for the team. Brilliant.

Salah is just made up, he's gone back and totally banished what happened last year and that's what it's all about, atoning for the fuck ups and the let downs.

Liverpool were outplayed but that more related to the early goal IMO, it changed the whole dynamic of the game. Much like Inter's CL victory, the semi-finAl was their real achievement but they had to win the final to validate it, they deserved it for their season, justice was done. No shame for Spuds although I didnt like how they kept Kane on the pitch, a touch of the England captain wayne rooney, David Beckham etc. about it

I couldn't post earlier as I was bricking it......but when I saw him leave Moura out and bring in Kane, I was happy enough. Dude hadn't played since April? Madness.

Liverpools semi final 2nd leg was basically Ali vs Foreman, Liverpool had to totally negotiate an absolute minefield. One slip and we were finished. That might be remember more than the final, and be regarded as more important, for sure.

Spurs had the same problem..........but Ajax quit. Ajax threw it away.

Spurs were luckier getting into the Final than Liverpool.

There's a received wisdom in the England press that if Kane is fit or even just available, he has to play. Not on the basis of this season. Would have started with Moura and Son.

Klopp deserves plaudits, his two biggest signings in past 18 months, Van Dyk and Allisson, got them over line. Alexander Arnold had a great game too.

Spurs with Son up front and Moura just behind him are a better side than Son and Kane up front, simple as. Not because Moura is better than Kane or any of that, it;s just a question of balance. Spurs midfield sans Moura is the mercurial Delli Alli........I have ex girlfriends like Delli Alli...one night they will and the next night they won't. He's as good as liability not because he cannot play but because he's can play..........you just don't know if he will.

It was the same at Liverpool.........when Torres wasn't fit, it was madness to play Gerrard.

People may remember me ragging on Klopp and I was right up to a point........Offense wins fans, Defense wins games.

He made BIG defensive decisions........he promoted Joe Gomez and TAA and I thought that was madness, they weren't ready.

And he bought VVD and Alisson...that was also madness at the time, especially VVD, I remember that news broke around the time we drew 3-3 at Arsenal, Christmas 2017-New Years 2018.

Klopp fixed the defense. And it's paid off.

Liverpool did only what was necessary once they got that early goal... they conserved energy, defended beautifully (I thought Alexander-Arnold was stellar) and let Tottenham have the ball knowing that they didn't have it in them to break the defense in the final third... In the second, only Son seemed a genuine danger man, IMO ... Spurs had more of the ball but I think a lot of that was Liverpool letting them have it, content that their lead was one they could defend ... essentially, I disagree with the idea that Liverpool were outplayed... I think they simply adapted to the flow and events of the match and chose to be patient knowing that their defenders could tame Spurs and that the good chance to put it out of reach would come ... and it did

Had the early penalty not occurred, I think they would've been more attacking and I think they still would've won

Yeah as Salaco said earlier, Liverpool only went into that mode once they had a lead.

Kane was not fit and VVD had the measure of Son.

Liverpool have never been known as a team that can just shut teams down and all year Spurs have given them issues, and last season before that too.

Yep they showed both finals for free. Amazing really.

4 European Cup finals in 14 years is as good as it get's really.

Liverpool have won 6 out of 9 finals.

9 Finals....I think only Milan and Madrid have managed more and I am not sure about Milan.

Closest English side is Man United and they've got half that

Aye laddies, and remember... AC Milan’s ‘connections’ managed tae get Liverpool booted oot fer 6 years (just kilting).

Actually, that wiz a very crap thing tae say, so let’s leave on a high note wi’ the thoughts o’ a Hamburg legend...

‘Kevin Keegan, one of the heroes of the 1977 final, always used to say that when Liverpool brought back European trophies to Merseyside it made him feel as though they were in Ancient Rome, like warriors returning from a bloody conquest to show off all the gold and loot they had plundered. Jürgen Klopp and his players will find out for themselves when their open-top bus sets off from Allerton Maze into the city centre.’

Didn't realize Bayern had won so few of their finals...........that's bad.

6 from 9 is acceptable, but anything less and I sort of wonder if there wasn't a curse.

    Funny thing...Since 2000, no Club has been in more European finals than Liverpool {6}
