Getting knocked out in sparring isn’t any kind of excuse, it would just be further evidence that he has a questionable chin. Unless they’re saying it happened because he was dying of pneumonia it would make no sense at all for Joshua’s people to make that up.

Eddie getting attacked by AJ sr does actually lend credence to the idea that something wasn't right in the AJ camp, ie sick or KO'd. Or it could be as simple as AJ sr disapproved of Ruiz as an opponent, and wanted an easier mark, a Breazeele calibre opponent. Maybe he knew AJ had a serious weakness to huge obese pink Mexicans.

The rumour I've heard is that Joshua had a panic attack in the dressing room before the fight, which is why AJ's dad went at Hearn for still letting him go out there. Seems somewhat plausible I guess considering the weird way he was acting on the way in and during the intros, and panic attacks are no joke whatsoever. I don't buy it though, personally.

 

Seems more plausible than him getting iced in sparring by a scrub who himself has made no such claim that he did anything of the sort despite the obvious boost it would give to his career

 

Joshua Admitted to Speaking w/a Sports Psychologist During 1 of His Interviews After the Final Presser.

And His Ringwalk Behavior was BIZARRE as Fuck. Detached/Disinterested, However You Wish to Word it, That was Joshua. Awkwardly Chewing On His Mouf’Piece.
