Laughable defending by England for the second and third goals. Could have easily been avoided. And what's the point in a 3rd/4th place playoff? Totally unnecessary.

Fixtures come out on Thursday. I want Brentford at home first game of the season.

Sure, the national team made a few defensive blunders but I don't think they need to face the likes of Brentford to regain some confidence.

That's insane! If that was recorded live with no editing whatsoever, that's highly impressive. Must have practiced that for hours upon hours upon hours.

Some Africans down in anderston making a laudable if misfiring show of integration....let's block traffic and march waving union jacks to show how much we love Britain! Managing to grate the 75% of glesga folk who detest orange walks and the 25% of nativist bigots who don't all at once...

And I believe Chelsea also have a transfer ban so they can't just go out shopping. They do have Pulisic coming in who's a very good player but he's not on Hazard's level and of course he'll require some time to adapt to new team and league.

Ta laddie... Ah think a Bill breakdoon is in order:

When things go wrong, the current vernacular is ‘It’s all gone Pete Tong’, so when the Sooth Africans were playing up Ah thought ‘It’s all gone Biltong’ wiz in order - whit wi’ ‘biltong’ being a Sooth African delicacy (one Ah genuinely make masen, like).

Ah suppose when it comes tae puns, over twenty years Ah’ve proven Ahm no’ just GOOD, Ah’m the BEST and Ah may have been overlooked but noo Ah’ve got Ye HOOKED.

Still seems like a big gulf in quality from nation to nation... I caught some of Spain/South Africa and outside of some solidly crisp passing from Spain, the pace was turgid and the action bunched up and very stop/start

But other stuff I've seen highlights of has been definitely better than that

I've been watching a bit of the Womens World Cup.

They are like the girl from the rhyme.......when they are good, they are good, When they are bad, they are utterly fucking atrocious.

Like womens boxing, it tends to be relatively enjoyable as it's so mistake prone and therefore tends not to make for boring games, if you can see past the obvious lack of talent.

Needless to say it is being aggressively promoted by grime artists who front and pout and generally try to threaten people into liking them, so that's an advertising fail, right there.

I watched highlights of England-Scotland Women. Seemed like it was quite a fast paced game with plenty of opportunities and talking points. I've been keeping abreast of things but I think I'll watch England's next game.

Canada vs Cameroon has been properly shit.

    As has Ireland vs Gibraltar.

WORST Irish side since the 1970's, fact.

Even the "better sides"...........make hilarious mistakes which are simply borne out of their physical inability to perform the tasks they are trying to perform. The decision making is also suspect...men just have that better ability to refrain from making certain decisions......all humans are programmed to react, but it's humans who don't react that can excel. I read about it in a book called "The Hour Between Man and Wolf".

Women tend to rush and hurry into pulling the trigger....one thing I notice as being totally absent from womens football is "letting the ball do the work"...their instinct seems to be to GET ON the ball........that needs to be drilled and trained right out of them.

They really do play the game like 10 year old boys......

    Ireland win 2-0.

I have had the privilege of living in the era of the very best and very worst Irish teams in living memory.

Worst Irish side since 50 years. Easily.
