After rewatching it, I am not sure if this was the whole truth about Joshua. To me, it seems there was something wrong with him. It is like he were ill. Joshua has been overrated but he hasn't been THIS bad while beating contenders. I wouldn't rule it out that he can bounce back
Just rewatched the fight and God damn is AJ fragile. He was doing great before getting hurt and afterward Ruiz realised he hurted him with any shots he landed, so he just started throwing more and more. Really a testament to wladerina lack of fighting spirit that he wasnt able to finish AJ after hurting him that much
Yep, it's true. You when I was arguing with clogg about AJ Vs Wilder's chin, I kind of knew there wasn't any concrete proof that AJ is way more fragile, it was more just an overall impression and gut feeling from watching his fights, and how they both react to punches. But yeah it was finally proven against Big Andy, the guy cannot take a punch. I don't give a fuck how away with the fairies he was, or if he had a panic attack or whatever, he just has no punch resistance and is extremely basic. Having good fundamentals and a basic style is one thing, like Mikey Garcia, I don't tend to like really basic fighters - but Joshua is way beyond that. He is literally like an oversized boxing robot, it wouldn't shock me to find out he is in fact a cyborg prototype. No chin, no defense, not much stamina, just some size and decent punching mechanics and power. It's mind boggling he has achieved this much success.
Not exactly arguing, more discussing, I listed chin as one of Wilder's advantages, and you said you disagree that Wilder has a better chin.
I don’t even think Wilder’s chin is all that good either. He’s another one who could lose at any time to some nobody. Just turns out AJ’s chin is fucking bad. But he at least used to dig deep when hurt. He couldn’t be bothered to do that last time.
Joshua is so unnatural it beggars belief. His chin is one thing, it's how he manages to turn himself into shots that really makes it worse.
I think I said we didn't really have a reason at the time to rate either over the other ... and that was true ... I never argued AJ had a better chin
