Mercer fucks AJ up Mercer was inconsistent, but at his best he arguably beat Lewis - I felt he did. That version of Mercer would be way too much for bum ass Joshua.

Mercer was too tough. Even if AJ could hurt him, Mercer would undoubtedly suck it up and put more hurt on AJ who seems to mentally fold when you can stand up to his power. Mercer stops him.

I have rewatched Klitschko vs Joshua and my believe is that Joshua has technically regressed since then.
I actually agree. Fight by fight since then, he’s looked less and less dynamic with his offense. For whatever reason, AJ isn’t the fighter he should be.
Again, I don't see it. He looked like a big robot for the most part against Wlad, and was only able to turn it around by throwing caution to the wind. He didn't show a whole lot of technical skills in that fight
I'm with JOM. AJ is the same guy who fought Wald. Wald was just 40-years-old and fragile, while Ruiz is young and tough.
Wald beat the shit out of an over the hill Mercer. AJ barely beat an over the hill Wald. Can we come to a conclusion from this?
Thing is, I think Wlad had better ring IQ than AJ and thus put his physical tools to good use. It doesn’t seem AJ has the know how to do that. He hasn’t even developed a stiff jab. And he can be wildly inaccurate with his power shots.
