No Bryan Singer apparently so I might be good. I think the Phoenix storyline ruins X Men though. I’d rather they stuck to films where Xavier’s Xmen battle Magneto’s mutants.
X-Men needs to move away from the Magneto storyline at least once. He wasn't the only villain in the comicbooks for crying out loud. With X-Men moving to Marvel and when Avengers completes its Infinity Stones saga, they could have a film where the Avengers clash with the X-Men. That was one of the earliest clashes of Marvel characters that remains a fan favorite.
How does it 'remain' a 'fan favorite' though when it happened in the 1968 and 75% of people who follow Marvel today are punk-kids who just watch the shitty movies?
Looks pretty good and drama like. Can’t be any worse than X-Men Apocalypse which has to be the worst X-Men film by a wide margin.
Because that storyline was rebooted not long ago in a series of highly successful comicbooks. New fans just loved it!
Aaaahh, fuck all that reboot, modern shit. Silver Age, all the way baby! What stage are they at now? Aluminium? Tin?
Pretty average movie, this. Sad, CGI-fest. end to the franchise of which is intriguiging here and there. The is one redeeming feature: James McAvoy´s Professor Xavier. 5/10
Nonsense. X3 actually has several good scenes even though the ending and overall movie is very bad. Apocalypse has only 2 good scenes. The scene where Magneto avenges his wife and daughters deaths and the one at the factory where he is about to. Plus Apocalypse is an all around terribly paced, bad boring movie where I’d say X3 mostly just has a terrible finale.
Stafford, as always, was wrong. Apocalypse was clearly the worst film of the franchise. Terrible fucking movie! X2 and First Classs were the two best.
This film has gotten the worst reviews in the history of the franchise. It is also expected to flop. Marvel Studios will have to keep this property in hybernation before it gets a reboot or just re-introduce the characters (revamped with new actors) in another established franchise ala Spider-Man & Black Panther in 'Civil War'.
Yep I been hearing that too. Even read it’s looking so bad that they did some reshoots to try and fix it. I’m hearing similar issues with the New Mutants film.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix failed to grab the top spot at the box office and came in second place with the lowest opening numbers in the franchise history with just $33 million. Given that the film had a $200 million budget plus marketing, this is without a doubt a humongous flop.
On its second weekend 'Dark Phoenix' made box office history: the worst second week drop for any superhero movie ever! Just $9 million! Congratulations!!!
Coming from a Purely MAINSTREAM Level, the Trailers DIDN'T Do a Good Job of SELLING the "X-Men" Aspect of It... It Wasn't Until 4-5 Viewings that Familiar X-Men Faces Started Registering w/REED...Can't Recall Many Scenes w/Characters in the X-Men Costume Either... It's Fine Trying to "Normalize" Super Heroes But Never Lose Sight of their COSTUMES as Immediate Identifiers...Who the Fuck Wants to See Them Wielding Their Powers in Street Clothes???... REED
Yup. trailers looked like another CW tv show by the lack of costumes and we are tired already of the Jennifer Lawrence Raven/Mistique centered plots. Freaking Mistique was NEVER an X-Men, much less a heroine.
The Trailers in THIS Thread were Perfect, But Those Weren’t Shown During TV Commercials REED Saw, Unfortunately. Honestly, REED Initially Thought “Dark Phoenix” was Some Type of Horror Flick, Until Paying Attention and Recognizing Familiar X-Men Faces. Costumes Motherfuckers, Costumes!!! REEDo_O
they seem to over complicate these movies and try too hard...how can such crap have a 200million budget? it's a dumb superhero movie, but they're now trying to overdo it in order to make the fans feel more intelligent and classy i predict that they'll even start putting in twists and surprise endings...so it'll be like a superhero movie crossed with The Usual Suspects just should just make this: 50 million budget...xmen vs some other bad guys, and lots of cool fighting
The Actors... For the Sake of MAINSTREAM Appeal, Comic Book Flicks Have to Incorporate A-Listers...Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender Probably Accounted for $45-$50mil of the $200mil Budget Themselves... REED
