Well Russ did unfollow PG on Twitter while PG quickly Tweeted he will not be having any Westbrook slander. So sounds like Russ is the jilted lover while George is the boyfriend trying to break up in the nicest way possible.

It’d be cool if Russ could somehow team up with Butler in Miami.

Westbrook has always had a chip on his shoulder. It's the reason he'd be the first guy I'd pick for my All-Star team, because he actually seems to give a shit, nearly all the time, but also the reason why everybody eventually leaves him.

I think Gianis is like that too. Also I don’t think Durant or PG left because of Russ. It’s been said that Durant had an issue with the OKC organization and that GState just presented a better chance to win a title. Same thing with George. He didn’t dislike Russ but it’s obvious going to play with Kawhi presents a better possibility to win a championship plus it’s the exact place he wanted to be from day 1.

It’s comparable to Lebron leaving Wade to go back to Cleveland. Not one person ever said Bron had an issue with Wade yet because Westbrook is Westbrook people assume Durant and now George don’t want to play with him. George has already gone out of his way to squash that narrative while Durant never publicly did.

james left miami because wade was old and unreliable health wise. he couldnt put together back to back strong games in the post season anymore. so james went back to cleveland to play with a younger superstar in irving.

george and durant most certainly left because of westbrook. george is probably good friends with the guy but that dont mean he wants to play with him or think he has a chance to win anything with him.

i have friends who hoop who i dont want to have on my squad.

Can Always Count on Your DISDAIN for Russ:D...

One of These Days You'll Reveal How he SLIGHTED You or Whatever, Because in Every Other Case You're a Cali Hooper APOLOGIST...Yet Russ Gets NO Love...Ever...

PG-13 is Coming Off Arguably THE Best Season of his Career, a Legit MVP Caliber Season, as Westbrook's Teammate...He's Not "Getting Away From" Anything, He's Going to a Better, Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeper Team, @ the Crib...And His New Partner In Crime Just Might Be THE Best Player in the World (Top 5 EASILY) and is the Reigning NBA Finals MVP...

PG13 is GOING TO a Better Situation and a Better Player, He's Not "Getting Away From" Anything...

well you'd think when a guy has an MVP caliber season and is playing with someone who you consider to be one of the top players in the league, that they could muster more than 1 win out of 5 post season games. bounced in round 1 of the playoffs for the second year in a row

There Won't Be Any from REED...

OKC Wasn't a Championship Caliber Team...Russ is Almost 3 Years OLDER Than Kawhi In Addition to Kawhi Being BIGGER, BETTER, More COMPLETE, etc...Kawhi's ENTERING his Prime Whereas Russ is Probably @ the Tail End of His...

And the Clippers Have a BETTER Roster...REED Doesn't Think Any Differently of PG-13 Than he Did Prior to This Trade...

Russ is a Convenient Scapegoat...Dude's Averaged OVER 10 Dimes a Game for 3 Seasons, Career Average of OVER 8 a Game, Yet Gets Labeled "Selfish"...He's Coming Off his LOWEST Scoring Average in 5 Years, but Folks Don't Look @ FACTS...

Even as he TORCHED Steph in the West Finals, Russ Took ALL the Flack for OKC Choking Away a 3-1 Lead AND Durant Eventually Leaving...It's All Bullshit...There's 4 OTHER Teammates on the Court w/You...

If You OBJECTIVELY Look @ KD and PG's Numbers as Russ' Teammate, It's IMPOSSIBLE to Isolate Him as a Problem of Some Sort...

Nobody knows why Durant left because other than saying why on a burner account he never actually said what the issue was. Even on the burner account his reasons were “he didn’t like the organization, he didn’t want to play for Donovan and they didn’t have any good players, it was just him and Russ.” That was his exact wording in third person because he was pretending to be a random fan. There was also a story last week about Sam Presti refusing to put up a Durant billboard somewhere for some reason that escapes me and that also rubbed Durant the wrong way. So yeah Russ haters like you love to blame Russ because it makes you feel good, but I’m pretty sure Durant never said he didn’t like playing with Russ.

Maybe that’s a Paul George problem instead of a Russell Westbrook problem.

In fact I’ve always felt George’s so called MVP season was way overrated. He had two outstanding months and then fell back to very good but not great production. It was almost like the shoulder injuries made people think George’s aberration period was the norm and the fall off period was the fluke.

I really like PG and I like his game but he pretty much always has some kind of injury excuse when he plays bad, much like he did in last seasons playoffs.

George will advance further with the clippers. It's not like Westbrook hasnt had plenty of talent around him in okc when Durant was there and after he left. hes the common denominator

Once again you’re unrelenting and unreasonably biased. OKC did not have a good team other than the Ibaka and Durant team and on that team even Kevin Durant played like shit in the playoffs. Every year this team has had zero outside shooting which always allowed teams to clog the lane and basically neuter their offense in the playoffs.

Against Utah last season in the playoffs Russ won a playoff game all by himself leading one of the greatest comebacks in the playoffs in a while. Meanwhile George was busy eating his Nike’s for giving himself the nickname Playoff P. I could see if you gave George equal criticism for their playoff failures but you’re so biased you want to sit there and blame it all on Russ.

Well you go ahead and have fun spewing your Westbrook hate, you won’t see anymore debate from me about it.

Westbrook isn't the complete reason but he has to take some of the blame. Like it or not but this is the 2nd All-NBA player who wanted out of OKC. I can understand Durant due to his expiring contract, but PG the year after signing a max contract?

Sam Presti must shoulder the majority of the blame and his "genius" needs to be called into question. It wasn't that long ago when he drafted Harden, Westbrook, Durant and Ibaka. Three of which won MVP's, two of which now have rings. He couldn't find a way to make it work and more importantly want those guys to stay.

The draft picks he got for PG and the ones he'll get for Westbrook will go to great use...for another team.

Why should Westbrook take any blame for George leaving? Is it Westbrook’s fault he isn’t as good as Kawhi or that OKC isn’t a suburb of Los Angeles? George wasn’t thinking about leaving until Kawhi presented a better situation to him. For all we know George might have left that situation regardless of who his other star teammate was.

As for Presti, no GM is a genius. The great ones- whether it’s the GM or organization as a whole- get it right for a while until they don’t anymore. The fact is no team/organization stays on top forever. Presti is actually fortunate to have this PG situation happen, because it forces an early rebuild out of a dead-end direction and he gets to do it with major assets.

What are you talking about? Houston also gave OKC two first round picks and two pick swaps that won’t convey until Russ and Harden are in their mid thirties.

For a guy in his prime who's allegedly one of the top players in the league, they had to take on the worst contract in the entire league at the moment. and in return they get 2024 and 2026 first rounders sandwiched around a swap

Ain't quite the haul they got for George, is it?

They probably could've got more for taking on Paul's contract without Westbrook in the deal

Chris Paul still a very valuable player when healthy. The "when" part becoming more and more of a factor as he ages however.

Presti obviously reloading, but they're going to have to have some genius drafts, as most of those picks are going to be near the top of the 1st round, and perhaps tank or season or two before becoming relevant again.

Curious how Harden and Westbrook are going to mesh this time around. I know they played together already, but I think they're different players and people then they used to be.

The first four Presti drafted, the other two he acquired and were or became all-stars. Zero championships.

First three guys all won MVP's
First two guys won the scoring title
Number two and three led the league in assists
The third guy averaged a triple double the past three seasons

Doesn't matter how well he drafts, OKC will squander it.

Lastly, Chris Paul has been an asshole everywhere he's been. New Orleans, Clippers, Houston...it's a pattern.

By that same token, Jimmy Butler has been an asshole everywhere he's been. The thought of Paul and Butler playing together is a terrible idea.
