Ortiz I guess - by hitting on the break. And Hatton was at 147. It's still a ridiculous conclusion.

Thurman is fragile, has no defense, weak stamina, and absolutely CANNOT handle it to the body. On top of all that, his power is GROSSLY overrated, and he doesn't have enough firepower to have hurt Floyd.

A younger, more aggressive Floyd absolutely would force a stoppage. He'd badly hurt Thurman to the body, and he'd tee off until the ref stopped it.

The Floyd that fought Hatton would 100% stop Thurman. Not even a question.

How about the Floyd who couldn't stop Judah? Does he stop him? Point is, it's a wild stretch to say a guy like PBF "definitely" stops anyone. Especially at 147.

Floyd was on the path to stopping Judah. Zab's blatant nut shot is what allowed him to last the distance IMO. The body punishment that Floyd was dishing out to Judah would have stopped Thurman. Keith, for whatever reason, just has a very LOW resistance to the body.

I'd consider a prime Judah better than Thurman anyway.

So is that the test? As long as a fighter PBF did not manage to stop is better than Thurman? What about fighters he did not stop who are clearly inferior to Thurman?

Hatton was in that fight till the last few rounds. And Thurman is a better welter than hatton. Far from sure that pbf beats him, let alone stop him, if hes having the same kind of night

Floyd, love or loathe him, is an all time great.

Keith Thurman is not beating ANYYYYYYYYYYYY all time great.

Plus explain how in the living fuck is Thurman gonna beat Floyd?

Yeah, hes an atg, but ww clearly wasnt his best weight. P4p4 it would be a complete rout though.

And im not picking turdman to win, but i could see him using the maidana approach, and making it a really hard fight for pbf.

Maybe im too hard on pbf ww carreer because of all the cherry picking, but he had a lot of very average performances at that weight (and a few great ones to be honest), and seemee rather vulnerable imo

Thurman doesn't fight like Maidana, like... at all.

There's a number of welterweight greats who would beat Floyd at 147, but Floyd is never in a million years losing to a fragile leap amateur like Thurman.

Floyd didn't beat murder's row at 147, but he beat more than a few guys better than Thurman.

Put it this way, the 90-year-old Mosley that Floyd beat was better than the best version of Thurman.

He also convincingly beat Cotto, who in 2012 was still MUCH better than Thurman.

Im not talking about the style but the approach. Putting pressure, throwing tons of punches and making pbf work every seconds. A bit like he did against pac, incidentally (and cotto in their fight, who fought completely differently than he does usually), but i think he could have more succes since pbf lacked the power to fuck him up as soon as he touches him

I don't see how Whitaker has a greater claim to top 5 than Pacquiao. My opinion of course. But concretely, what puts him above Pacquiao?

Morales thoroughly schooled a prime Pacquaio....i'd say that this should be used against him, but then again no one ever cares about DeJesus-Duran 1
but then again Morales was at the end of his career so the rematches have less merit

so yeh, Morales and JMM schooling Pacquiaio means that he is outside the top 10 for sure

What about Michael Spinks or Marvin Hagler does Pac rank above or below them? If below, then top-20 is beginning to get crowded

    Duran
    Benitez
    PBF
    Whitaker
    Arguello
    Pep
    Armstrong
    Chavez

That's twenty guys, excluding old-timers such as Greb, Fitsimmons or Langford, excluding all the great midgets and excluding shitload of true greats in each weight division (such as Hopkins)

Leaving Pac out of top-20 sounds wrong, but if you add him, you have to be ready to forsake pretty solid fighters too

Schooled? Lol. Who? Only reason Morales won that fight is he made Pac wear Winning gloves.

If you watch morales/pac i & ii back to back, it is clear pac's punches just weren't the same in the first.

If Pacquiao had Tito's wraps he'd be in the top 5
