Kownacki's cardio mostly held up despite being fat but he was very slow on his feet. VERY slow. And defense was crap too. He needs to get down to 235-240. Not this Butterbean bullshit.
Only positive thing to say for Kownacki is that he fought a slimmed down version of Arreola. That's it.
Kownacki has potential. His chin is top notch. Same for heart. Needs to come down to 235-240 and utilize head/body and foot movement. Defense + angles will make him much better.
He doesn't have to be Tyson He could do 10% of what Tyson did and he'd be much much better. I just want him moving side to side more and bobbing and weaving a bit. Way way too stationary and slow defensively.
He may have felt that he doesn't have the need to move vs Arreola. One thing is for sure: he's got a better gas tank and less power than Ruiz. If he has a chin I can see him outwork Ruiz. Let's face it., Ruiz landed the home run and was able to work at his own pace thereafter. Impuissant Joe Parker was basically able to outbox Ruiz, potshot his way to a win. IF Kownacki has a chin, drops 20lbs and tightens up a bit, he could beat Ruiz.
REED Agrees w/Neil, Kownacki Hits Harder... It’s Not a Julian Jackson-Pernell Whittaker Sized Gap, But There Is One. Kownacki Is a Harder Single Shot Puncher, Whereas Ruiz’s “Power” Is In the Volume and Rapidity of His Shots. REED
Ruiz Legit HURT Joshua w/the Temple Shot But Even Then ACCUMULATION is What Bounced Joshua Off the Canvas Repeatedly... Ruiz ISN'T a Thudding 1-Hitter Quitter...Not Saying Kownacki Is Either, but he's CLOSER to Being One than Ruiz Is... REED
You KNOW it's Bad When Kownacki Looks Over @ Arreola's Body and Decides to Put His Shirt BACK ON... REED
Ruiz has quick hands and puts punches together well but I seen him drill journeymen with his best shots over and over again and not do much damage on top rank undercards for years. Guy ain't a big puncher
I saw Cow in person last Sept on the Porter-Garcia undercard, fighting Charles Martin. Hit Martin with everything but kitchen sink and couldn't dent him. Neither one is some Tyson-like puncher, so the argument is kinda pointless.
That's former heavyweight champion Charles Martin? I'm talkin bout palookas with 10 wins and 6 losses who Ruiz hit with a ton of punches and didnt take them out
How is Kownacki Wilder gonna go? Wilder ain't no boxer Kownacki will steamroll him. Wilder's power is overrated and Kownacki has a great chin. I see him Swarming Wilder and breaking him. Kownacki in 8.
I'd have dreams too if I could get any sleep these days. Kownacki won't have trouble sleeping if he fights Wilder, that's for sure.
No chance you drunken Irish peasant. If glass man Szpilka can take wilder's bombs for 9 rounds Kownacki will surely go as many rounds as he feels like.
