Derby let Clough and Taylor walk ... they deserve to be forever a second division side

    Call them the almost-Rams...

    Playoff record:
    1992- lost in the semis,
1994 - lost in the final,
2005 - lost in the semis,
2007 - won Playoff final (then did absolutely shite in the PL the following season)
2014 - lost to the mighty QPR in the final,
2016 - lost in the semis,
2018 - lost in the semis,
2019 - lost in the final...

I had to stick derby into google maps, i didnt even know where it was....somewhere west of Nottingham it turns out. Might be the most sizeable place in the uk i have no associations with. Ancient? Former induatrial? Posh? Chavs? Music? Accent? Famous sons? My brain has no files.

It is. Just due to his name. Grounds will fill up when Derby come to town.

Coutinho to...Arsenal on a season-long loan deal. Could it happen?

Spurs favourites to sign Coutinho now.

More transfer news...Man Utd are "considering" a late move for Christian Eriksen and Spurs have agreed a fee for Dybala but personal terms are yet to be agreed.

Coutinho is overrated, but he will probably suit Spurs and the way they play.

Rooney to Derby is weird, not because he's got anything left but because I'm not sure how they can afford to pay the Angry Potato's wages. I thought they'd be kinda fucked financially after bottling promotion so many times in recent years.

Yeah, I read before that historically they have a habit of losing money and this mainly comes down to overspending in order to challenge for promotion.

With regards to Rooney, I think he'll be on between 80-100k a week, which is around what he was on at D.C United. The Derby owner believes they've always wanted to be compliant with financial fair play and this signing doesn't change that. They can make a profit with the commercial opportunities presented with the signing. Plus they've been offered a record-breaking shirt sponsorship deal which they've accepted and sold Pride Park recently and are making a profit on that also.

Still, this is risky given the wages Rooney will be on.

Man Utd ''end'' their interest in Eriksen. Lol yeah, like they ''ended'' their interest in Dybala.

Rooney's commercial value will start to wa(y)ne quickly if he doesn't deliver on the pitch. I can totally see him phoning it in and disappointing.

    Coutinho rejects Spurs transfer offer.

  15. Rooney's £90,000-a-week wages will be funded by a new deal with Derby’s main sponsor, gambling/betting company, 32Red, with Rooney wearing the No. 32 shirt.

    Genius.

And after all this they'll have to settle for 10th place in the league.

City, who do not spend more money than Liverpool, have just spent another £60m today.

Yeah, Klopp is just really really bad at sums.
