We have the Kovalev fight on espn+, the Estrada fight on DAZN, and B. Figueroa on fsn. Plus, there is a sho-box on Friday night.

I guess it's time to give up and get DAZN and ESPN+. I'm so used to these types of ventures failing, but these appear to have staying power.

Is there any way to record their broadcasts? How are they for replays?

REED Had to Get Used to Watching Fights on his Fucking Phone, But Other than That he's Been THOROUGHLY Pleased w/Both Platforms...

Like Neil Said, Their Bouts are Immediately Archived and Accessible...DeLa Even Brought His Own Fight Catalogue w/Him to DAZN and REED's Pretty Sure ESPN+ Affords Access to Old Top Rank Bouts...

The WAY We Watch Fights Has Changed, but There's Never Been MORE Fights @ Our Disposal...

There's never been more fights at the disposable of us hardcores, but the sport is alienating itself away from casuals more than EVER. In that way, ESPN+ and DAZN are hurting the sport.

I wanna know how the Hell guys like Haney and Vergil Ortiz are gonna become mainstream stars, when NONE of the mainstream is watching DAZN.

We can turn a blind eye and act like HBO leaving doesn't hurt the sport, but it does.

I'd MUCH rather see Haney, Ortiz, and Lopez coming up on HBO. Of course they'd be bigger mainstream names by now.

Social media appeal for one fighter isnt gonna be enough to prompt casuals to pay $15 bucks a month to a boxing streaming service.

I flat out do not like that DAZN alienates the sport.

Five years ago, if Ortiz's last fight was on HBO, I guarantee a couple of my boys who are casuals woulda been calling me excited about just having watched.

Now, nobody calls me. And they have no idea these fights are even on.

DAZN itself has a putrid social media presence, that certainly doesnt help.

But that's Where the DAZN Fighters Self Promotion via Social Media Helps Bruh...

Canelo has 5.4M Instagram Followers, AJ has 9.5M, Ryan Garcia has 3.2M...
Canelo has an Additional 1.3M on Twitter, AJ has 2.5M, Ryan Garcia has Over 240K...

Even on Facebook, the Medium of Choice for Ol' Farts Like Us, Canelo's Fan Page Has 3M Likes...AJ has 2.7M and Ryan Garcia Has 37,000...Low Number on the Surface, but Considering Garcia's Age and the Likelihood he NEVER Goes on Facebook Personally, that's Not Bad @ All...

JOM is Spot-On About the Target Audience of Social Media Bruh...We AIN'T It:D...Youngsters Today Learn, Process Information and Promote Themselves Differently...

REED's Only Seen Ryan Garcia Fight 1 Time, Yet has Known OF Garcia for @ Least a Couple Years Now...

This idea that boxing is going to somehow return as a mainstream sport is a fantasy.

It Won't, But the Notion of Boxing "Dying" Has Been Echoed Since Jack Dempsey Retired 90+ Years Ago, as Well...

Even as Our Sport Has Fallen Out of the Mainstream, a Handful of Fighters from Every Era Have and Will Continue to Achieve Mainstream Status...

The Idea of Floyd Mayweather EVER Becoming Mainstream Seemed IMPOSSIBLE...Until He Did It...

I agree. I'm just saying, the sport wouldn't survive on CBS, etc. It has a relatively small fan-base - hence, cable, streaming is needed.

A big problem started when NON-superstars were put behind paywalls - and by paywall I mean PPV.

For instance, it's a damn shame that Spence-Porter is PPV. Would have been AWESOME for the sport if it was on Fox, or Showtime.

Spence-Bundu Strategically Followed the U.S. Men's Basketball Gold Medal Game @ the 2016 Olympics, and Did Over 6Mil Peak Views...Spence-Porter is Very Much an Ol' School "Regular TV" Fight and it's Definitely Sad It Won't Be...

Exactly. Pbf was a bore in the ring (especially when he became a star) and uncharismatic as it gets. Yet he became a hige star because of social media. Same for mcgregor and roussey in the ufc (though they were pretty exciting). People knew them cause of fb. Were not un the 80s anymore

    Yup.

Should have been Spence-Porter on Fox, THEN, by all means have Spence-Pac on PPV.

You couldn't be more WRONG about Floyd. Wowwwww you're off. Social media made Floyd a star? LMAO!

Floyd became a mainstream star in 07. Social media was in its fucking INFANCY in 07, and had ZERO to do with it! In 07, Myspace was still king. Facebook was an infant - mainly used by just college kids. Youtube was still emerging. And Instagram didn't exist.

24-7 made Floyd a star. Which SUPPORTS my argument that HBO's departure is such a blow to the sport. THEY made a Floyd a star!

Floyd was definitely able to sustain his starpower via social media, but yeah it was the De La Hoya and Hatton fights which made him a global star, and then Pacquiao followed the exact same route a year later.

Lol back at you. PBF ppv numbers are at a whole different level after he came back from his retirement and started having a huge social media presence. He wasn't a mainstream star before that.
