His style was indeed pure Leap but he was capable of adjusting his Leapism to win fights, so he doesn't qualify, fuck boy.
Broner Utilized the Shoulder Roll CONSIDERABLY More than Berto as Well... Berto Definitely Shoulder Rolled, But REED Doesn't Know That He'd Refer to Berto as a "Shoulder Roller", if That Makes Sense... REED
You're exaggerating saying Zab had "average" skills. The "average" boxer is not as skilled as Zab Judah. The "average" boxer is not gonna make a prime Mayweather look pedestrian for the first few rounds. Until Floyd adjusted, he was having difficulty with Judah's southpaw jab, his counter punching, and the how quickly he was able to pivot around. Those are not the skills the "average" boxer has. You can certainly say that Judah didn't have great skills, and you'd be correct. But he had well above average skills.
You're confusing speed with skill Zab Judah was very fast but he was not a technically sound boxer nor was he particularly skilled... he was physically talented Who'd be outbox? Mickey Ward? Who'd he walk down? Cory Stinks? PLEASE
No, I'm not at all confusing the two - I'm not some novice. Zab had a solid jab, which he RARELY utilized. But that in itself is a skill. He also had good technique when he was actually under control. His straight left was a thing of beauty at times, and he threw beautiful uppercuts with EITHER hand. He was certainly more offensively skilled than the AVERAGE fucking boxer.
Defensively, is a different story. Judah was 98% dependent on his reflexes to avoid punches. And the problem is, he had decent defensive reflexes, but not superhuman Ali/Jones/Benitez reflexes. So he wasn't a hard target to find. But offensively, the skills were there. There's not a whole lot of southpaws in history who uppercutted as well as Zab. And the uppercut is a skill that VERY FEW boxers ever perfect.
Judah had a pretty shitty jab, but he managed to land his best power shots in almost every fight and it was usually enough to hurt his opponents and win
There was a breakdown video which showed the strategic adjustments BOTH Floyd and Zab were doing in the first half of their fight. It was a genuine back and forth of nuanced boxing skill until Floyd eventually got the upper hand midway. Zab was a moron but he knew what he was doing in there.
I was so sure Dirrell had won that fight and I was so disgusted by the end that I used Boxrec to find out who had won. The BBC wouldn't stop praising Dirrell who had the beating of Froch...but didn't want to fight...........the rest of the planet was sucking on Fronds dick despite his having flailed like a thresher to no avail all night. Utterly disgusting affair made worse by the horrendous pre-fight bullshit that was sign of things to come as we moved into the new "Social Welfare Media" age.
It's a very good question..........David Haye fits the bracket but Khan preceded him by some time. Khan turned pro in 2004 remember.....it's 15 years ago.
Fightbeat’s Famed “Book Reader” Can’t Be Held Accountable for His (Repeated) Failure to Comprehend Mere Threads. REED
You didn't explain shit. You said he was more logical so therefore not a leap amateur? Crock of shit. You just know RJJ puts a fly in your leap amateur ointment.
Jones did things "Wrong" but he didn't believe he was doing them "Right".........and he still knew how to throw his jab properly. He doesn't fit the mold. The Leap Amateur is a guy who does things wrong believing that he has some unique style..........or believing that he is doing things correctly......when in fact he's just a sloppy bum doing things wrong cos he's got bad habits he is used to getting away with.
Vitali, Roy, Fury, all did in fact have a unique style which worked for them and involved them getting hit very very little when they were in good form. The leap amateur is the guy who always walks into a shot and is convinced as he does it that he's in no danger at all. I think Terry Norris was a bit of a leap amateur and the guy that comes to mind for me is Ryan Rhodes.
Fast forward to 29:00 This fight was in the late 1990's and I think Rhodes is a good Leap Amateur "I know what I am doing, I have this, I..........BOSH"
You're a fucktard The leap amateur is a leap amateur because he doesn't know how to actually box but thinks he does Jones was purposely unorthodox in the same way Aaron Pryor was ... Jones's style developed as a result of his unusual physical gifts as Pryor's did ... he fought the way he did because he COULD ... he developed into that fighter because he was a freak and could make such a bizarre style work not because he was A) posing, B) retarded and trained by other retards or C) the product of an idiotic Amateur scoring system ... he's not a Leap Amateur but he was unwittingly and unintentionally an inspiration to many of them (as was Hamed)
