I think at this point he might have claimed the crown, as the GOAT stand-up comedian.

The one that just came out, "Sticks & Stones" I think is hilarious. These LGBT clowns are giving it bad reviews because he's the only comedian who calls them out.

The thing is, even MEDIOCRE Chappelle is better than 90% of all other comedians.

Among black comedians at least, I'm ready to say that Chappelle has surpassed Pryor and Murphy.

I haven't seen enough comedians to say who is the greatest, but Chapelle is good, definitely. He isn't the laugh-out funniest guy ever, but I like the fact that he actually tries to say something with his sets, while being funny.

The Superhero who gets his strength from raping joke he had in one of his Netflix sets was superb

Sucky might be going a bit far but I agree to the point I found them underwhelming compared to his three HBO specials. I haven’t seen the new one yet.

I think Chappelle is the greatest of this generation, maybe the best since Pryor who I think is still the greatest. Murphy IMO has the single greatest stand up show ever in Delirious but you can’t be considered the GOAT with only two stand up specials one of which isn’t even that great so he’s out.

YES I thought so for YEARS NOW....he's tv show his stand up.....was GOAT material...then he walks away comes back and his still relevant and funny ...yes he is THE GOAT.

but then I remember that George Carlin lived......okay Chappelle is the 2nd GREATEST...but he still has time...he still has time...

Chappelle, Pryor, Murphy, and Carlin would be my Fab 4 of stand-ups. 5th spot... I'd go with Chris Rock, even though he fell off.

Bring The Pain and Bigger And Blacker are both stand-up masterpieces, so Rock makes the list.

Not even close to being Chappelle's best.

the tv show has no impact on his ranking as a stand up though

I think Eddie can not be in the conversation as the GOAT. 2 dated specials a GOAT doesnt make.

Chappelle is interesting because he doesnt make you LOL for the whole set. Lots of the set just makes you think. But It's funny as fuck material. Chappelle's DC special is better than anything Murphy has done.

But then you have guys like Chris Rock who has put out more content. Even if some of it is hit and miss, overall if you add up all the laughs, im sure you many have laughed more at Rock than Murphy.

Im not sure there can be a GOAT in comedy. Comedy can be really dated. but if i had to look at consistency and people who have stayed funny throughout their careers and doing standup throughout their careers i would have to say these people are the tops.

    in no particular order.

    Don Rickles
    Steve Martin
    Chris Rock
    Dave Chappelle
    Richard Pryor
    Dave Attell
    Bill Cosby

One thing we can all agree on, I think, is that Women are not good comedians.

Bill Cosby might deserve the spot as he was funny as stand up comedian, TV performer and a legendary pratical joker

Yeah and many of these older guys have albums. Cosby has many albums out there, but so does Steve Martin. Martin is very underrated .
