Fuck greb, a copy of the waltz-leap bout would have been the holy grail back in the VHS boxing fight trading days

So does Khan deserve to make the HOF because he birthed a new era?

    Guy makes a compelling case.

    Hall of Shame

Khan was the inspiration for the term obviously but he was just a next level of daftness in an already existing problem

Khan was the first shitty mainstream star.

Every star in boxing before him was at least a quality fighter. He began the trend of bums who became crossover successes.

Is Khan in the leap amateur phylum?

I thought he was more accurately classified years ago (by huthut?) as belonging to the button mashing simian phylum

I don't think that's true ... Berto was already being proclaimed as a wunderkind by HBO ... I don't think Jermaine Taylor was quality at all ... maybe quality by paltry contemporary standards but that's as far as it goes ... basketball robot Michael Grant was bankrolled by HBO despite his obvious lack of fighting talent years before the emergence of Amir of Bolton

Berto, Grant, and Taylor were never known by the mainstream.

Khan was a superstar in the UK.

Yeah, but Frank Bruno was Ray Robinson compared to Khan.

It's far more respectable to get blasted out by Witherspoon, Tyson, and Lewis than by Prescott, and Cherry Garcia.

Khan was the first star who was truly awful.

So you're saying that a boxing ring is neither a true box nor a ring?

No. You're adding Smith to the list of fighters it is more respectable to be blasted out by than Garcia. Are you not? So the question is - do you think Smith was a better fighter than Garcia?

Smith was more talented for sure.

    Danny Garcia was/is shit.

Definitely not. This is overrating the 80s big time.

Also, prime Khan was legitimate top-2 guy in his division, Bruno never was close to being that. Bruno had the more traditional technique but Khan was probably better, even if his era was worse
