Crawford has an argument for sure and I really rate Inoue but you seriously underrate Loma my bru. I don't get it.

Campbell fought well and proved he is a good fighter, he's just a level or two below Loma, not sure what the issue is here.

  3. The issue is that a scorecard of 119-108, 119-108, 118-108 for Lomachenko is not a 'battling' or 'thrilling' win as the shit UK media are making it out to be.

    It's a piece-of-piss shut-out.

I think Campbell fought well up to the Championship Rounds but the "Gameplan" was classic Adam Booth/McGuigan horsecrap......a blend of survivalist minimalism and ambush jumpathon. Campbell always seemed to be taking the fewest risks and setting the most traps all at the same time. This is what forced Lomachenko to make the fight and it's what allowed Campbell as much "success" as he had, all the time the TV dudes roaring at us about how he, Campbell, was making this a close terrific fight and that Lomachenko was in the trenches etc.

Campbell was literally twice Loma's size and had insane height and reach advantages. He also must have had about 10lbs on Lomachenko. Yet his entire plan for the night was to set these traps and sweep single bodyshots........a blend of running and hitting and going back to running.

I figure bookmakers are pretty good at their jobs. Campbells odds never got better than 7-1 and after the fifth they rocketed to 14-1 and 10-1 was the closest he got thereafter.

2 judges gave him 1 round and that is how I had it too........and that was generous as there was at least 2 10-8's in there and all.

Ruining a perfectly enjoyable evening were the TV boffins telling me about this fight they were scoring that was even after 6 rounds. It was not even.

One more round and Campbell would have been counted out........he was all game plan and no ball, but I do give him credit for staying the course.

McGuigan being forced into a self-inflicted retreat about what a "good night I had" was a fitting finale to what really was a high-class con job.

This wasn't Hatton vs Tszyu where the guy simply went balls to the wall from day 1 to just impose himself and win. Instead it was "Do this and you will be able to say what a great night you had, in addition you still retain a 5% chance of winning the fight and landing the odd flash shot".

It was more of the usual paralysis by analysis I've come to expect from these "Mega Coaches" of British boxing.

Loma is bit small for lightweight. Still it is very difficult to criticize a 10-2 win over the #2 contender

Loma at 135 is definitely undersized. His skill will see him through, though. He would still very likely beat Teofimo Lopez. I’m guess he’s waiting for either Pacquiao or Mikey Garcia but it’s hard to imagine those fights happening.

He could always drop back to 130 and face the likes of Tank and Farmer.

Loma should get fat and fight Crawford

Man you can’t just normal hate fighters hunh? You always gotta go the extra mile. And what is it with fighters with last names starting with an L? First Linares is the most overrated bum you ever saw now Loma isn’t as good as Crawford or Inoue, GTFOH.

I’d pick Loma over Crawford’s overrated-average-ass tomorrow and don’t get me started on Inoue, who unlike Crawford is actually talented but lacks the experience not to mention the huge gap in defense.

Your opinion would be better taken if you didn’t have an obvious hatred of Loma, who’s still dominating competition well above his normal weight class while still hurting and dropping guys.

If you don't care what anybody says why bother posting about it on a public forum?

It wasn't a win, it was a beatdown. I've never seen a guy offer so much offense in such an economical package. Some of his body shots were surgical and about 6" long. I've no idea what fight the pundits were watching.

    LOL.

The thought of Loma beating Crawford is comical. If you wanna argue who would win a P4P sense, fine.

But had they fought at 135, Loma gets badly hurt. Crawford's too big for him.

I give Lomachenko credit for how he is able to set to up these subtle attacks.

It's wrong to judge him too harshly. He's a tiny man and he's done far better at the weights he's moved to than a great many featherweights before him.

I'd love to see him vs Hamed or Barrera or Morales. I think he beats them all.

I agree, I think Loma would have beaten all of the Mexican trio at feather plus Hamed, Pacquiao is a different beast but I would probably still slightly favour Loma.

I'm a big, big fan of Crawford, I think the guy is exceptional. I pick him to beat Spence if that ever happens. The idea that he is in some different league to Lomachenko is absurd, however.

Personally I think it's a good example of one of those fights that is competitive but not close. Campbell made a fight of it in a lot of rounds but he wasn't winning them.

    Prime Pac would stop Loma.

I don't have the greatest confidence in Loma's chin. I don't think he's weak chinned, but I don't think it's holding up to a young Pac's speed and firepower.

    Whoa!

When did I ever say Crawford's "in a different league?"

  23. Slice N Dice

Slice N Dice Big stiff idiot

What's that based on, though? Don't get me wrong, 126 Pacquiao was a beast and hit like one, but technically Loma would still be a level above. You say Loma's chin doesn't hold up but he's been dropped once by a much bigger guy with solid offensive skills and he wasn't hurt, he got up straight away and stopped the guy a couple of rounds later. Pacquiao was actually KTFO a couple of times and dropped by nobodies like Nedal Hussein before his featherweight reign so why is that not taken into account?

Yeah, it was intriguing up to a point but in terms of a "Pick a 10 and pick a 9" it was so so easy for almost every round.

  25. Irish

Because unlike Hatton, Pac only has his good points taken into account. He also walked into a right hander vs JMM that Loma would never walk into.

Yeah, I probably went a bit far with that, apologies. You never said that but it does seem like you have some issues with Lomachenko, the guy is awesome.

I think Inoue's the best fighter in the world right now.

I'll double down and stick by my claim that Crawford is better than Loma, but there's not some big gap between them.

  29. Slice N Dice

I think WAY too much is made of the Linares knockdown. Linares will never go down as an all time great but he was the bigger guy, very good offensively, and he literally could not have landed that shot any better, in terms of torque, timing etc. Loma was completely square on and paid the price. The best fighters all make mistakes. He clearly wasn't hurt and got up straight away.

One thing's that been made very apparent in recent months, Teofimo isn't ready for Loma.

The fight to make remains Loma-Davis.
